My Paper Heart.

Scarlett is going to a new camp. One problem, she was placed in the wrong cabbin and is roomed with five incredibly adorable guys. Each with their own story. But one sticks with her the most, and time flies by too quickly.

40. Week Two.

(Tyson's point of view)

Scarlett leans on my shoulder as we watch the game of Ga-Ga before us. She keeps twitching, some times she'll get up and walk to Harry, Jeremy, or Joshua and talk to them if they're out.

We're all in the same cabin again, not exactly the same one, but we're still all together. Polaroid and Dundee are still our councilors, so that's really cool too.

"What time is it?" Scarlett asks me.

I look down at her and smile, there's a clock over on the wall of the Mess Hall; it reads 9:48. New campers will show up any minute now. I sigh, time flies too fast when I'm around Scarlett. "Soon, calm down."

A nervous giggle escapes her lips and I kiss her forehead. She smiles.

"Alright everyone! To the field!" Hero calls out. When we wait for the new campers we go to the huge field and wait for everyone. Usually there would be a face painting station and a few little games, a few councilors were setting them up. I looked over my shoulder and saw a few inflating a huge water slide, surrounding them were some eager campers ready to play.

"What's that?" Scarlett asks. She points to a station where a councilor is mixing a few paints together. A girl with frizzy blonde hair is laughing with her and there's a red blob on her shoulder.

"Face painting." I say. Scarlett smiles and pulls me along with her to the station.

"Thanks Presley! I love it!" The girl says as she leaves. The red blob is now a lobster and she's laughing as she walks away.

"No problem Stella," the councilor turns to Scarlett, "hi, what can I do for you?"

"Um... can I get a daisy on my cheek?" She asks. She's so shy, it's like she holds an innocence within her.

"Sure, sit down, c'mon."

Scarlett smiles nervously at me and sits down. I lean against the table that holds the paints and watch as Scarlett holds her breath as the paint is applied to her face. After a few minutes and talking to Presley, Scarlett has a little flower taking up more than half of her cheek.

"Do you want one?" Presley asks me.

"Uh," I pause and look at Scarlett, she's tying her hair into a ponytail and smiling into a mirror at herself. "Can I get her name in a heart?"

Presley laughs and Scarlett looks up at me surprised, she blushes and smiles as she rolls her eyes. I sit down and she waits by the paint table. I have to roll the sleeve of my shirt up a little, but other than that I try to sit perfectly still.

"You're an idiot." Scarlett tells me. She shakes her head and laughs a little, but her hand is linked with mine and she smiles up at me.

"I'm your idiot. You're stuck with me." I tease her.

She raises an eyebrow at me, then lets go of my hand and runs away laughing. I chase her, but now there's a good deal of new campers here, and I bump into someone.

"I'm sorry," I say, I look around the girl and search for Scarlett. I see her hiding behind a tree, she sticks her tongue out at me and laughs to herself. I smile and turn to follow her, but the girl puts a hand on my arm.

I look back at the girl and my heart stops. The blonde hair that was once long is now cut short, the long sleeves and jeans are switched with a tank top and a pair of shorts; the only thing that is the same about her are her hazel eyes that once drove me crazy.

"Jennifer," I choke out. I wrench my arm away from her and take a step back. She smiles embarrassed, the few friends around her have expressions of shock, but I can't seem to focus on them.

Go to Scarlett, you don't need to talk to Jenn.

I shake my head and curse myself for using the aged nickname I once gave her. I close my eyes, I open them again when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look down and see a worried Scarlett watching me. She turns to Jennifer and seems to look her over, questioning how she could effect me.

"Hi," Jennifer says to Scarlett, she hold out a hand and Scarlett tentatively shakes it. "I'm Jennifer, Tyson and I used to be friends."

"Oh," Scarlett says thinking. I told her about Jennifer, yes, but I never told her Jennifer's name. "I'm Scarlett."

"How do you know Tyson?" Jennifer asks. She wraps her arms around herself like she's hurt, there's pain in her eyes.

"We're dating." Scarlett says slowly, almost like it's a question. Finally she puts two and two together and her eyes go wide and her mouth drops open.

"Let's go Scarlett." I say, I know she's going to do something. I need to get her out of here before something bad happens.

I put my hand on the small of her back and she looks up at me. She nods and I lead her away, I don't look back at Jennifer, that's a part of my life I need to let go of.

But she's here, at Pali. What is she doing here? She told me she hates camp. My mind swirls with never ending questions, but Scarlett escapes from my grasp and finds a cooler not too far away from the blow-up water slide. She opens it and pulls out a bottle of water for each of us. She hands me mine and smiles at me.

"This is going to be a fun week, huh?"

"What makes you say that?" I ask. I twist off the lid to my bottle and take a sip.

"Well, I mean, what with your ex-girlfriend and a crazy psychopath after me, this just seems like an eventful week. Wouldn't you say?" Scarlett asks smiling.

I grin at her, "Yeah, then the music video we still need to work on."

Scarlett shakes her head and looks away. I tell myself that I won't let Jennifer get to me. I can't let her, I have Scarlett now.

I glance over at Jennifer and she's already watching me, she gives me a small wave and I look away.
