He pressed his lips harder against mine but, then he paused against my lips. He smiled and pulled away. "Ok, Ellen. I'm going to have to teach you how to fight."
"We can fight later," I said.
He chuckled. That's the most I saw Collin smile since I've been here. I want to get close to him. I want to be able to see what he's hiding. The only thing is if I get to close with him, will he find out my secret?
He looked me up and down. "You got to be comfortable while you're fighting. You don't look comfortable in what you're wearing."
"But, I am…Comfortable." I said shyly. I didn't want him to see my scars on my wrists or worsts if I have to wear those training bras like the female fighters wear-- he will see my bruises.
"I'll take you out shopping and I can show you what the female fighters wear." Collin grabbed his keys and started walking towards the door.
"No, I'm serious, Collin. I like what I'm wearing. I'm comfortable in it." I was wearing my usual hoodie that I always wear and jogging pants.
Collin turn back to look at me with curiosity in his eye. "Ellen, you slept with that jacket-" he paused biting his lip. He looked back over at me. "A kid at school didn't give you that black eye."
I could hear my heart pounding against my chest. "W-what?"
"Forget it." He sighed face-palming. He glanced back up at me and gave me a smile. "I'm sorry I'm just. You're hiding something from me, Ellen. I understand you don't know me well enough now but, I will promise you if you ever need me about anything, I'm here. I don't want to dig in your past and I'm asking you to not dig in mine." Hurt flashed in his eyes. "But, if you ever need anything I'm always here to talk," he chocked on his words keeping eye contact with me.
I nodded. "You can stay in your clothes," he said. "But, I would take off your jacket if I was you. It gets hot in here."
My other shirt is not long sleeved. Maybe, I'll just try to hide the scars the best I can. I took off my jacket and threw it on the ground. Collin came over to me and grabbed both of my hands gently. "I need for you to relax while you fight," he said. I looked up at him. "I learned this on google," he winked.
I chuckled softly and faced the boxing bag. "I want you to do what you usually do but, take deep breaths. Let's fight together." He took my wrists in his and I let out a hiss of pain. He let go of my wrist and turned my arm a little bit so, he was looking at my scars. He just kept staring at them.
