My mom and Taylor were visiting us. I'm guessing she wanted to see how I was doing. A knock came at the door and I went over to answer the door. "Hey mom." I smiled, greeting her with a hug.
My mom and I still had a rocky relationship, but we were working it out. I didn't want to have the same relationship with my child as I did with my parents. "How are you doing sweetie?" She asked with a smile as we pulled away.
"I'm doing just fine." I smiled. "I don't know about Harry though." I turned over my shoulder to see Harry cooking something in the kitchen. He was always a busy guy, whether it'd be at work or at home.
My mom and Taylor were staying in the guest bedroom upstairs. I closed the door after Taylor carried their bags into the house. "Let me put those upstairs for you." Harry emerged from the kitchen, taking the bags.
"Thanks." Taylor smiled. Harry nodded and carried the bags upstairs. The rest of us sat down in the living room to talk. "When's the due date?" My mom asked. My mom was more anxious than I was to have this baby born. She wanted to see her grandchild already.
"June 24th." I replied.
"She'll have a summer birthday like her mom." My mom smiled. My birthday was June 16th. I just smiled and nodded in agreement. Harry came back downstairs and entered the kitchen to check on the food. "He seems occupied." Taylor said.
"He's been working, cooking, and decorating the baby's room. He hardly lets me clean sometimes. He doesn't want me to put on a lot of stress." I glanced over at Harry again and just smiled when his eyes met mine.
I could also tell that he was tired as well. "Eventually, I'll be helping with everything else. I don't want him to be overworked."
"At least you two are splitting up the work in the house." My mom said. "Have you thought of names yet?"
"Well, if the baby was girl, Aubrey and if the baby was a boy, Joshua."
"Those are lovely names hon." she smiled. The food was ready and everything was set on the dining table. The four of us sat down at the table and ate our meals. There was a lot of chatter between my mom, Taylor, and I. Harry was just silent.
Later that evening, Harry and I were sitting in bed together. "You've been quiet all day." I said, looking at him. He shrugged and continued to scroll through his phone. Seven months into this pregnancy and Harry was still acting the same.
Quickly, I grabbed his phone out of his hands and held it away from him as he tried to take it away from me. "Clearly, you're not okay Harry." I said.
"I know our child is important Stel, but what about us... as a couple? Aren't we important too?"
"But us as a couple made this child, so yes, we're important too."
"I want more us time." He sighed, looking down at his hands that were placed in his lap. I wanted more us time too. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach that made me gasp. Harry took note of it and asked me if everything was okay.
It happened again. "Feel this." I set Harry's phone on the bedside table, then reached over as I took his hand and placed it on my stomach. The baby kicked towards the direction of Harry's hand.
He looked so intrigued by it. "The baby's kicking." I smiled. A smile spread across his face as he left his hand there. "That's incredible." he said. After a while the baby calmed and Harry laid down, resting his head on the pillow.
His hand never left my stomach and he began to draw circles. He reminded me of a small child at times. I guess that side of him was never going to leave. "I just love how you're so fascinated by this." I told him.
He looked up with his bright green eyes. "Why's that?"
I shrugged, "Just never thought we'd be experiencing this together." I laid down, but could never get comfortable on my back. I faced away from him and felt him snuggle close to me, his head nuzzling the crook of my neck.
I missed the days when we'd cuddle like this. An arm wrapped around me, holding me close. "Good night Harry." I said.
"Good night Stel." I heard his voice so that his breath tickled my ear. I just smiled and fell asleep in his arms. It was the day of my baby shower, which my friends had surprised me of course. Francesca and Lauren had come down for the baby shower.
"You are one beautiful mommy." Lauren smiled as she greeted me with a hug. I smiled and hugged her back. It seemed like forever since I've seen Lauren. "Thanks Lauren." I told her and pulled away.
"This baby will be very spoiled." Perrie admired all of the gifts that were sitting on the table. The baby shower was being held in the backyard at Louis and Eleanor's house. Emma, the newest edition to the Tomlinson family, was an adorable bundle of joy.
Caden was happy to meet his baby sister. "Yeah, just as spoiled as mine." Eleanor teased. I chuckled lightly, knowing that I had bought a few stuffed animals for baby Emma. She had Eleanor's eyes, but Louis's smile. She was going to be a beautiful girl when she gets older.
The boys weren't invited to the baby shower. They were all back at the house, probably watching TV and catching up on everything that they missed out on. I had announced to my friends the baby was going to be a girl.
"She'll be beautiful like her mom." Francesca smiled.
"What will her name be?" Lauren asked.
"Harry and I both decided on Aubrey Eleanor Styles."
"Naming her after me?" Eleanor asked. I nodded and smiled. "Why?"
"We want you to be her Godmother."
Eleanor smiled, "I'd give you a hug but my hands are full." Everyone had gone home after the baby shower. "Did you have fun?" Harry asked once I got home. He helped me bring all of the gifts inside the house.
"Yeah, I had a lot of fun. It was a much needed girls day with the exception of Caden." I smiled.
"Glad you had fun babe." he smiled as he leaned in and kissed my lips. He brought everything upstairs to the baby's room, which I have yet to see. He knew I was getting impatient, but I had to cooperate.
That night, we both went to bed and for the first time in a long time, I dreamt. I dreamt about our future once again, but this time, there was a different image. It wasn't very vivid, but I remember seeing Harry. In that dream, Harry was smiling and he was happy. I wonder why.
