10. Epilogue

5 years later...

"Happy birthday beautiful." Harry walked up to me and kissed me on the lips. He revealed a bouquet of roses which he had hidden behind his back. I took them from him and smiled as I thanked him for the flowers.

"What about me daddy?" Today was also Aubrey's birthday. She had grown into a beautiful girl. She brown hair was in curls, like Harry but she had bright blue eyes. "Let me show you your new room." he smiled.

Her eyes lit up as she squealed with delight. She had been wanting a new room for a year. I picked up our three year old son Joshua from his playpen, following Harry and Aubrey upstairs.

The three of us walked down the hallway and stopped in front of another room. "Close your eyes princess." Harry said. Aubrey, who was just as impatient as I was, huffed and then closed her eyes. I chuckled slightly, seeing Harry smirk at me.

Harry opened the door and told Aubrey to open her eyes. Once she did, she hugged him from around the waist and thanked him. She ran into the room and climbed onto the bed. "Don't jump on the bed." I warned as she began to jump.

Immediately she stopped and got off the bed, then grabbed Harry's hand and pulled him into the room. Her room was fit for a princess. Everything was decorated in pink, purple, and there were some gold accents. She was definitely spoiled.

Our son Joshua had gotten the old baby room that Aubrey once had. Josh was beginning to look a lot like Harry from the eyes to the dimples when he smiled. The only difference was the hair color.

Aubrey had gotten Harry to play dolls with her. "What?" Harry asked, looking up at me as I set Joshua down to play with his sister. "Nothing." I tried to hold back a laugh, but I giggled instead. Later that night, we put our children to sleep.

"I actually have one more surprise for the birthday girl." Harry smirked. We hardly had any time for ourselves since our children were born. Day and night, our attention was focused on them. We had to work different shifts in order to take care of our kids.

I'd work the day shift and Harry would work the night shift. Only on the weekend were we able to spend time with each other, but even then, our kids were always put first. "You know how I feel about surprises Harry." I told him.

"You will love this one." Harry smiled as we reached the end of the hallway to our bedroom. Harry opened the door and everywhere, there were rose petals. A few candles were lit to set the mood. "Harry-"

"Now, before you say anything, we can do this the safe way." He interrupted. I just smiled and slightly shook my head. "Actually, I was going to say: I love you." I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned in, pressing my lips to his.

. . .

Standing out on the balcony had brought back a lot of memories. The salty smell in the air and the cool breeze blowing through my hair. I closed my eyes, taking in the scent. I could see the image of kids running in the backyard, their laughter sounding throughout the air.

The image of dancing in the kitchen while waiting for the cake to be baked. The image of various movie nights that consisted of laughing, crying, and fighting to stay awake. The image of putting the kids in their beds and them being sung to sleep. I opened my eyes again and looked out towards the beautiful city of Los Angeles. The sun was just setting and painted the sky an orange hue. For a moment, time stood still and everything was frozen.

Where had the time gone? Aubrey was now heading off to college and Joshua was still in high school. Those two have surely grown up before our very eyes. She was choosing to go to UCLA for college because she didn't want to leave home.

Thirteen years seemed like a long time, like eternity more or less. Yet, Harry and I have been together since we were both eighteen. We've had our ups and downs with break ups in between, but we managed to find our way back to each other. We've been married for twenty years.

A lot can happen in twenty years. Harry and I have gotten married, had two beautiful and wonderful children, Perrie and Zayn were married, Francesca and Liam were married, Niall and April were married, and of course, Louis and Eleanor with their four adorable children: Caden, Emma, Tommy, and Cathryn.

Francesca and Liam had been together for five years before divorcing. Soon after, Liam and Lauren had gotten together. The two of them are married now with three children - two boys: Jayden and Sam; and one girl, Taylor.

Perrie and Zayn had two children of their own: Hanna and Jacob. Niall and April have two children: Rebecca and Anna. All of our children have grown up together with ages ranging from 19 to 8.

We've had our laughs and cries. There were many arguments in between, but we were all still good friends. "Mom?" Aubrey's voice called out behind me as I turned around to face her. She was surely a spitting image of me.

"Yes honey?" I asked her as she stepped out on the balcony with me. Aubrey had grown into a young lady. Her hair was just as curly as it had been when she was a child and her eyes were still the brightest blue.

It was the week before she was leaving off to college. I was going to miss seeing her every day since she decided to stay in the dorms on the campus. "What are you thinking about?" she asked.

"Just looking back on the past sweetie." I smiled. My mom's vocabulary had grown on me. I'm really happy that my mom had married Taylor. Honestly, I would've never expect for him to be my step-dad. "What was college like for you?"

"It was a good experience for me, but as for you, you will have to make your own journey." I smiled. "I went out of state for a reason. I wanted to escape the problems that I faced here, and eventually those problems caught up with me.

"You will learn to face your own problems. Your dad and I will always be there to support you, no matter what."

"You never really told me how you and dad met."

"Honey it's a long story." I told her.

She smiled, "I can handle long stories mom." She had developed a few characteristics from me. She had always been a good listener, but there were a few characteristics she had from Harry. "You really want to know?" I asked her with a smile.

"What story are you telling mom?" Josh entered, along with Harry.

"The story of how mom and dad met." Aubrey answered.

"I think we should sit for this one." Harry suggested with a smirk. I glanced up at him and glared at him for a moment, then stuck my tongue out at him. He winked at me, then took a seat in one of the chairs.

Aubrey and Joshua joined their dad by sitting in the other chairs. I took a seat in a chair beside Harry. "Well, it all started when I moved to Los Angeles..."
