June 15th. My birthday was tomorrow and about a week until the baby was born. "Ready to see the baby's room?" Harry asked me. He had surprised me with breakfast in bed and even rubbed my feet when I asked him to.
I nodded as I followed him upstairs. It had been a while since I've been on the second floor. I remember being on the second floor when I first moved into the house. It's crazy to think that three years ago, I was just moving into this house.
We walked down the hallway and reached one of the rooms. "I worked very hard on this, and I'm really hoping you'll like it." He said, placing his hand on the door. I knew that he was stalling. If he was given the chance to stall, he'd stall.
"If I wait any longer, this baby will be born." I teased. He chuckled lightly and rolled his eyes, then opened the door. As soon as the door opened, it was as if my mouth had dropped. The entire room was painted pink.
In the middle of the room sat a white crib with pink bedding and the name Aubrey above the crib. Even some of the furniture matched the crib. There was a shelf where all the necessities for Aubrey were placed.
I stepped inside and opened a few of the drawers to see that a few of her clothes were neatly placed. I noticed the small bit of wallpaper he used. Even a small tiara hovered over her name. I began to tear up and Harry walked up to me.
"Everything okay?" he asked. I nodded and let out a small laugh. "Everything's just fine. I'm just- You did all of this for our baby?"
"I did all of this for you and our baby." he smiled. "Happy birthday Stella." I leaned in and kissed him. This came first in the list of the amazing things Harry has done for me. The second was obviously the marriage proposal. Those were the only two that mattered.
Suddenly, I felt something like water running down my legs and pain in my stomach. "The baby's coming." I told him. He was just surprised as I was, but without any word, we walked out of the room and headed downstairs.
Harry helped me into our newer car, which was safer for children than our two sports cars. This car was already packed with the carrier and bag, just in case Aubrey decided to come early. That day had to be before my birthday.
He drove to the hospital and I was admitted into a room. He called a few of our friends to come to the hospital. During the time that I was in the hospital, the contractions continued to progress as each one came after the other.
If cramps were bad, this was cramps times ten. I couldn't bear the pain. The nurse checked every so often to see how many centimeters I was dilated. Honestly, I just wanted this baby to come out as soon as possible.
In between some of the contractions, I was able to talk with some of my friends and Harry. Harry called his mom, his sister, my mom, and Taylor. They were going to book flights to see me. I had no idea how many hours I have been in labor, but the nurse announced that I was 10cm dilated, the doctor gave me the okay to push.
Harry was the only other person in the room. All of our friends were in the waiting room. The whole time I was pushing, I held Harry's hand. I'm pretty sure I must've squeezed his hand a little too hard at some points, but I don't think he minded. We were in this together.
After one last hard push, the sound of crying broke the tension in the air. She was finally out. Aubrey was here. They placed her on my chest, wrapping her in a blanket. She calmed down and then her eyes opened.
"She has your eyes." Harry smiled, looking down at her.
"She has your hair color." I gently touched her cheek. Our daughter was so beautiful. I just couldn't believe she was finally here. Nine months was such a long journey. The nurse asked Harry to cut the cord and he did.
After a few minutes, they took her for a moment to weigh her and check her measurements. They just wanted to make sure she was healthy before she came home with us. They handed her back and told us that she was very healthy.
The doctors and nurses left as a few of our friends entered the room. "Are we allowed to see her?" Perrie poked her head in through the door. Harry gave them the okay and they entered the room. Perrie entered the room, followed by Zayn, April, Niall, and Louis.
Louis had told us that Eleanor was at home with Caden and Emma but she'll come visit at our house to see Aubrey. "She's such a beautiful baby Stel." April gushed.
"As beautiful as her mom." Zayn added. I rolled my eyes at him and smiled. There were still a few ways Zayn could make me blush. "Thanks." I smiled. Aubrey's eyes were closed. She looked a little bit like Harry when she was asleep.
The nurse entered to ask Harry and I information about Aubrey. "What will her name be?" she asked.
"Aubrey Eleanor Styles." Harry said. The nurse wrote down her name and then left the room. "Can we hold her?" April asked. I nodded and let April take Aubrey from my arms. I yawned a bit. Never really knew that pushing a baby out of your body was tiring.
"I think we should leave Stel to sleep." Niall suggested.
"Hope you two don't mind if we steal your daughter." Perrie smirked.
"Don't drop her." Harry warned.
"We won't Harry." April said, softly rocking Aubrey in her arms. They all exited the room to show of the remainder of our friends who were probably out in the waiting room. I yawned again as Harry sat down in the chair beside me. "You did a great job." Harry said.
"We did a great job." I smiled, looking into his green eyes.
"Happy birthday love." He leaned in and kissed my lips. This was absolutely one of the best birthdays I've had. The best present of all was our daughter, Aubrey.
