The next morning, Evie-Mae awoke startled. She remembered Zayn had came over. She peered over Zayn, and looked at her alarm clock. She read the time, '11:42 am'.
She gasped, waking Zayn up. She looked down at him, and shyly smiled. He beamed up at her in return, admiring her sleepy features. He hair was sticking up all over, and her eyes had dark circles around her eyes.
"I missed school, today." Evie-Mae said.
"That's okay, there's always Monday." Zayn replied, adding a smile.
He admired her features. She had such beautiful features. Zayn didn't know what was her best feature. Was it her eyes? Was it her body shape? Was it her personality?
He could kiss her lips, all day long. He pictured her underneath, and him on top. He was kissing her, and he was making love to her. But, he can't make love to her anytime soon, mostly because they barely knew each other, and that could be considered rape in some sort of way.
"Zayn, are you okay?" Evie-Mae asked.
"Yes, I-I'm fine." Zayn slightly blushed.
Evie-Mae excused herself to wash up in the bathroom. She hopped over Zayn's legs, and quietly walked into her bathroom.
While she was in there, Zayn was in deep thought. He knew that she was innocent, and he wasn't. She got all the good grades, while he got the bad. They were so different, and he knew it; but he felt that they had something in common. What was it? He didn't know, but he indeed wanted to find out.
As he slowly risen from his laying position, his phone vibrated in his side pocket. It had signaled a text; his friend Ronnie had sent it.
"We need to meet up, soon.", it had said.
"Idk, maybe.", Zayn had replied.
Ronnie had never replied back. Evie-Mae was out of the loo, by then. She was wrapped in a towel, and her hair was wet. She had forgotten that Zayn was here.
"Oh, my god, I totally forgot about you being here." Evie-Mae apologized.
"It's okay, I should wait outside." Zayn said, getting up from her bed. He quickly ran out, shutting the door behind him.
He slid down the wall, crouching into a little ball. In a way, he wanted to see her body. She was petite and skinny. He wanted to adorn it. He wanted to do things with her body.
'Enough dirty thoughts, you barely even know her; and even though she has taken care of you, and let her take you home, you don't want her to change. She's innocent, just remember that.' Zayn thought to himself.
He sat there for another ten minutes, until he decided to sneak to the kitchen. No one was there, except for him and Evie-Mae, who was upstairs getting ready.
In the kitchen, Zayn went towards the refrigerator. He found the pancake mix on one of the door shelves, along with a bag of chocolate chips. He also grabbed two eggs, butter, and milk.
He then looked for a bowl, without trying to make lots of noise. He opened the dish cabinet, and found a big plastic bowl to put everything in. He found a pan in the stove, and a spatula in the silverware drawer.
He mixed all the ingredients and turned on the pan. He picked up a scoop of butter, and lowered it onto the sizzling pan. It sizzled as Zayn held the pan to let it slide all over.
As he made breakfast, Evie-Mae made her bed. She opened her bedroom door, smelling the pancakes. The scent had lingered to the upstairs level.
She paused her actions, and followed the scent towards the scent. She walked down the stairs, one step following another. She soon reached Zayn, and watched as he flipped the pancakes over.
They soon were at the kitchen table, gobbling down on Zayn's home cooked meal. Evie-Mae dropped down her fork, and looked up at him. She had been picking at her breakfast.
"Why are you doing this nice stuff for me?" Evie-Mae asked.
"Why not?" Zayn answered, smiling with a mouth-full of pancakes.
"I just don't understand. We met at a party about two weeks ago and went to a diner, we go on a date to the movies, you protect me from a criminal, you come in the middle of the night to comfort me, and now you made me breakfast; why, Zayn?" Evie-Mae continued, demanding an answer.
"Why not?" Zayn answered again.
"We barely know each other. We just started talking the other day." Evie-Mae stated.
"What's the problem?" Zayn furrowed his eyebrows together.
"We are taking things too fast." Evie-Mae said.
"So? I can't hang out with you or make you breakfast?" Zayn asked.
"I'm not saying that you can't. I'm just asking why are you taking this so fast?" Evie-Mae corrected herself.
"What's the deal? I'm trying to make friends with you." Zayn spat.
He really liked her, but he was not going to tell her that. That would make the situation even worse. He definitely didn't like how unappreciative she was being, though.
"Okay, but why are you taking things too fast?" Evie-Mae asked.
"Yeah, I may have taken you on a date, but who called in the middle of the night because they were having nightmares?" Zayn stood up, staring er down.
This shut Evie-Mae up. She then stood up, and pointed towards the door. She stared him down with her blue eyes, "Leave." She wanted him to be gone.
"Evie-Mae, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you." Zayn apologized, asking for her forgiveness.
"Take your stuff and leave." Evie-Mae said, still pointing at the door.
Zayn moved over her, towering her petite frame. He softly caressed her face, holding one cheek in his hand. He whispered curses of apologies. His lips were very close to hers.
His smell was intoxicating. He wanted nothing more than to be forgiven of his words. Unexpectedly, Evie-Mae pecked his lips, and hugged him tight. She soon sniffled, because she was crying.
"I'm so sorry, Zayn." She whispered, her voice cracking.
"It's okay, babe. It's okay." Zayn comforted her, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight.
And they stood like that for a long time.
