Ho... ooo... Aa... aa...
Hey Gopal-Krishna karun aarti teri
Oh Lord Krishna! I worship You

Oh my favourite one, I worship You
Tujhpe to Kanha, bali bali jaun
On You My Krishna, I'll sacrifice myself
Saanjh savere tere gun gaaun
Day and evening, I sing Your praises
Prem me rangi mein rangi bhakti me teri
I am colored in Your love and Your worship
Hey Gopal-Krishna karun aarti teri
Oh Lord Krishna! I worship You

Simran finishes her prayer ans she hears someone shouting for her.

Kajal: (Screaming) Simran!

Simran: (She finishes her prayers and shouts back.) Ha mum, what?

Kajal: (She is shouting to Simran.) Come down stairs please now!

Simran: (She is talking to herself.) Why do I have to come all the way downstairs, and it is going to be for a stupid reason? (She goes out of the temple. She walks down the stairs and then into the kitchen.) Yes mum, what do you want?

Kajal: I just want to tell you something.

Simran: What?

Kajal: Simran, you are 17 years old. You will be going to university soon; you need to learn how to cook our food.

Simran: Not again! When I am going to university, I will not being cooking Dal Bhat (Lentil soup with rice) and Sak (Vegetables with spices). I will be going to Macdo or KCF.

Kajal: Mark my words, Simran, you will miss Indian food.

Simran: Never.

Kajal: You can go now!

Simran: (She leaves. She stops and then takes a letter out her pocket and opens it and then talks to herself.) How am I going to tell her I can’t go to university with the grades I got? How?

The theme tune goes on; afterwards Simran walks back to her room. Kokila is calling Simran who is her grandmother.

Kokila: Simran! Come here please.

Simran: Ha, I’m coming! (She goes in to Kokila’s room.) Ha Ba!

Kokila: Now, you are 17 years old. You know what happens after your 17 years old.

Simran: You get a job, earn money!

Kokila: No, you get married.

Simran: Oh God!

Kokila: Simran, you have to get married, someone who is in our community, you is a Patel, who speaks Guajarati, not like you!

Simran: God, what about love? You need to love!

Kokila: You need to cook, clean, work and look after the mother-in-law.

Simran: Fine, I’ll do it! (She leaves and then speaks to herself.) Why do I have to be a Patel? Why can’t I be a white person, marry who I want?

Devesh is calling Simran as well, he is her dad.

Devesh: Simran!

Simran: Coming! (She goes into her dad’s room.) Yes dad.

Devesh: I know you heard from everyone about going to university but I just want to tell you something about my life.

Simran: Oh, no! (On the screen it says 5 minutes later.)

Devesh: Then I went to O-Levels and I passed with flying colours. (Then it says 10 minutes later.) Then I went to do with my A-levels. You will never guess what happened, I didn’t pass. (Then it says 20 minutes later.) So I was really upset that I didn’t become a doctor. (Then it says 40 minutes later. Simran is now really bored and is sitting on her phone.) So I had to become a pharmacist. Now this is the important part. (She goes of her phone.) Be something you love, and earn money, so you can live a happy life in a big house with your husband, who is I hope it Patel but that’s a different story. Do you see what I am trying to say?

Kajal: (She is comes in.) What are you guys doing?

Simran: Learning about Dads life story!

Kajal: Well have fun.

Devesh: There is still a lot left. Stay! (Kajal sits down and then sighs.) I also brought a lot of flats. (Then it says 50 minutes later. Simran is bored and Kajal is sleeping.) I got money, but never buy flats and this is why. (Then it says 2 hours later. It is now night and an owl makes a noise.) Do you see where I am going? Do you know what to do now in life?

Simran: Yes, thank you bye! (She quickly leaves.) Gosh what a life I have to lead? (She runs to her room, but her brother is in there on her laptop.) What the hell are you doing?

Raj: Nothing, just watching a quick clip!

Simran: Get out!

Raj: Why? You come in my room!

Simran: Yeah but only for the Wi-Fi. Anyways, I just can’t wait to go to university, without you annoying me.

Raj: Yeah dream on! You’re not even going.

Simran: Just shut up okay! (He runs out.)

Raj, who is 14 years old, is walking to the sitting room. He is sits down on the chair and he is angry, his granddad is sitting there as well.

Shashi: What’s up? Why are you angry?

Raj: Dada, I am angry!

Shashi: Now, there’s a surprise, you are always angry. Why are you angry?

Raj: It is stupid Simran; she is not letting me on her laptop.

Shashi: Well, you know what; I will buy you a laptop. What do you say about that?

Raj: No, you save your money, buy something big. Save up all your money.

Shashi: Why?

Raj: Because I want to live in a big house, with three swimming pools and a gym and an on suite. (Shashi’s face goes down.)

Shashi: Raj, I know you are jealous of other people, but we can’t afford that big of a house.

Raj: I know, you brought too many flats.

Shashi: Thos flats are for you to have and earn money from it.

Raj: I want to be a doctor and take over my dad’s pharmacy and also have the flats.

Shashi: But what about Simran?

Raj: I’ll give her one at least! (They both laugh and carry on talking.)
