I woke up suddenly drenched in sweat as my nightmare faded away from my mind. I took a deep breath as I pulled the heavy duvet off of my shaking body.
I padded into the bathroom and splashed cold water over my face, as I looked up at myself in the mirror. As I have done every morning for the past 2 years. My eyes gazed over the familiar features of my face. The forest brown eyes framed by dark lashes, the nose short and straight with flushed pink lips.
I looked away and my thoughts wondered back to the pain in my dream. The onslaught of memories thrashing in my head, determined to be watched again. I shook my head in determination, as I looked out the window to the far shore.
The scars on my palms ached alittle.
I sighed and turned away as blunt object crashed into the back of my head.
