14. Only Too Real
The sound of me breathing filled the room, the silence stifling. I looked up into the stranger's face. His skin was translucent, stretch taut over his bone structure. The angles provoking deep shadows along his face, obscuring majority of his features.
'Who are you?' I repeat, my voice trembling a lot more than I wanted to. My mouth dry, I tried to meet his gaze.
'I asked you the question my dear,' He replied.
'I.. my name is..,' The wooden door creaked open suddenly.
'Is she awake? Good!' a confident voice followed through. A young man with golden hair stepped into the light, highlighting a royal blue uniform with a sword buckled to his hip. My mind reels even further as I take this in. I definitely wasn't in my world anymore.
'Bolt, take her to the King. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to talk to our... guest,' he exclaimed as he looked down at me with piercing blue yes. My breath caught in my throat.
'Yes my prince,' 'Bolt' said. He reached towards me and motioned for me to turn. Shakily I obeyed, as I realised he undid my restraints. Rubbing my wrists, I gingerly stand up as the Prince watches my every move. I came up to his nose funnily enough in terms of height.
'Follow me,' the prince said as he walked out. I approached the open doorway, before glancing back at Bolt. He smiled at me. Taking a deep breath, I followed the prince through the stone doorway.
