I turned away from him in order to hide the creeping blush up my cheeks from his gaze.
Tanderish carried on, the moment previously unnoticed by the elf.
'So now we shall bring the meeting to order in terms of rescuing your mother,' He nodded towards me. I steeled myself.
'As far as we know, she is being kept in the dungeons in the Castle,' he began to explain. A cold shiver went down my spine.
'She will be held in most secure part, in the middle, underneath the courtroom.. We need an elite team of at least 5 so we can plan a quick escape-'
'Why should we risk ourselves to get her back?! She won't be hurt, not unless the King demands it?' Lorenze complains. All eyes snap to him as he speaks. No one says a word but inside I am absolutely boiling. How dare he?! She's still a person and she shouldn't be forced to be locked up by her own father! As I lose restraint and was about to unleash a tirade of what I thought but Charles spoke up.
'Although yes, it may be fruitless to try send in people after her but you forget she is key in this organisation in order to save the kingdom,' he put emphasis on the last word, arranging the centaur into his place. I glance over in his direction as Lorenze huffed in annoyance at the dismissal of his words and nodded slightly in appreciation. It may have been a trick of the light but I swear he almost nodded back at me.
'Indeed.... Then who should be in this rescue mission?'
'I want to help,' I stated firmly. All eyes descended on me as I said this, making me incredibly uncomfortable.
'You have no training,' scoffed Lorenze. My face lit up as I tried not to lose me temper.
'You are too young to do this....' Tanderish added. 'We need warriors, not girls,' my blood started to boil as I swallowed against the lump in my throat. That's when it happened.
