The Dead Walking 2

This is the sequel to The Dead Walking. You all know Izzy's story and how she came to meet Carl's group, but this is completely different. The zombies are changing. They're getting smarter. Trees aren't safe, wooden doors wont protect you. Nothing prepared her for what is happening to the world.

After our little episode me and Carl went back to our bed. We sit here on the bed laying right next to each other, our hands locked together. Tears still stream down my face, but I am no longer crying, its more like an overflow. I cant leave Carl. He cant leave me. We are one and without the other we are nothing. I don't know how I could have even thought about leaving him. "I'm sorry," I whisper.

"Izzy. You don't have anything to be sorry for," he shakes his head.

"Yes I do. I was going to leave you Carl."

"It doesn't matter Izzy. You weren't going to leave me, you just wanted to stay here by yourself. There's a difference," he insists.

"But I WAS going to leave you. Even if you stayed here I was going to leave you. I didn't want you to have to worry about me."

"Izzy! Why? You don't burden me," his eyes widen.

"Because I do burden you. Even if you don't mind I am still creating a harder task for you."

"I don't mind the extra task. You are worth it Izzy."

I just shrug. He may think I am worth it, but really I am not. I am not worth him risking his life. I already know he would take a bullet for me or take a bite from a zombie. I may not burden him, but either way he is still going to be risking his life as long as I am here.

"Don't just shrug Izzy. You cant get rid of me," he smirks

"Okay," I am tired of arguing, I give in.

"What do you think my dad will say. Do you think he'll split the group up?" Carl asks.

He narrows his eyes. "Even if my dad doesn't split the group up, I will not let you stay here by yourself," he says.

        "I know."

"So then why are you so down?"

"I'm not," I give him a fake smile. "But Carl if your dad doesn't decide to stay here then I'm going back with you guys. I wont let you leave your family for me and frankly I don't think I can leave you anyways," I shake my head.

        "Really?" he asks, surprised.

"Yeah. I mean we can always come back here and get more supplies when we need them," I shrug.

Sometime later I hear someone walking towards me and Carl. Its Rick. He walk down the isle and stops when he reaches our bed. "So I've decided that we are going to take some supplies back to the prison. I am going to give the group a choice. They can either stay at the prison or they can come here," he explains.

"That sounds okay," I nod. "I'll help you guys take some supplies back."

"Well were leaving now, so get your things together," he instructs.

He walks away before I can respond. Now Carl doesn't have to leave his dad. This thought makes me feel better. I grab my things and follow Rick with Carl by my side. I don't know where Mashone or Daryl is, but I'm guessing Rick does because he walks swiftly down each isle in a hurry. I see Mashone and Daryl by the door to leave, surrounded by 4 carts full of grocery bags. Everyone grabs a cart and I am left empty handed. Of course they aren't going to make me do any  work, I'm injured. They pity me to much.

We all walk out to the road and they push the carts along. I guess I will be staying here at the store. Carl will to and that's alright for now. Once I heal properly no one will be looking out for me as much. Everything will go back to normal.

Okay so I promise the next chapter will be far more exciting. These last chapters have been kinda boring and to be honest I am finding it boring to write the last couple or chapters because I already know whats going to happen. So the next chapter will be ALOT better. Enjoy!
