The oath was strange. The words were unfamiliar to me, but I felt heat consume me. My heart was turning warm. It was like an oath, but there was some form of ritual involved. And it included both of our bloods.
de lo que le debo a usted, Laney Collins,
los deseos de tu corazón se vincularán en los míos
Por este medio que está obligado a mí por toda la eternidad
I truthfully had no idea from what it meant. It was in a different language. From where we were, it was dark. The only thing that was lightening the place was red-lit candles. The orange flare of the candles were dim, but I could only manage to fit the outlines of his broad, and muscular figure and the perfect lining with his cheekbones. I guess he was trying to blend in with the darkness, he wore everything black again. Gulping slowly, he handed me a small knife. Encrypted with old Arabic text, and a rusty bronze end where he gripped it firmly as he passed it over to me. He informed me to slice my palm and let the blood drip into a silver chalice. It stung a little, but not much. I grunted awkwardly to show that it hurt a little, and he reflected my move back, only he didn't show that it hurt. It was uncomfortable with the fact Samantha and Shane had been there. Samantha was dozing off into her own little world, and Shane just looked... like he saw something disturbing.
"Are you okay?" He whispered, placing his wound against mine. I couldn't keep my eyes off him. When our wounds touched, I felt a slight sting consume me, he was frozen, he was so cold he was making me shiver. I nodded at him slowly.
"The ritual is done now, I am now obliged to you," Rosen bowed down to me, not keeping his charming gaze of me. His eyes flickered with guilt, as if he was hiding something. Or he didn't like touching me. Shane switched the lights back on. I glanced over towards Samantha, who looked completely uncomfortable. After a moment of awkward silence, Samantha decided to clasp her hands together to try and start a conversation.
"So, we need to train you," She pointed at me, grinning at Rosen in the process. She was clearly gesturing him to train me. I stepped back hesitantly away from Rosen; realizing how close we were.
"Train? For what?" I asked them, sounding suprised. I folded my arms uncomfortably as I stared at them; waiting for an explanation. Shane rolled his eyes in disgust.
"Really? I think we're going to have to explain everything to this girl." Shane stated, folding is tensed arms. Rosen shot him the death glare. His eye brows were raised in confusion.
"Training against the darkness, you'll begin tomorrow."
