I sighed awkwardly and retrieved Samantha's coffee she had made me. I supposed it was a way for me to be relaxed about the whole situation. But that wasn't going to work with me. I panic too much. Hell, I'm still in a house full of supernatural creatures, yet at least there are a few humans in the same room.
I was more worried of the chief not liking me.
But I'm worried about this. Not that they cared.
"Why is this only happening to me?" I asked them, sighing in disbelief. Samantha smiled faintly. Most of the time Rosen and Shane let Samantha do the explaining. Perhaps they were to scared to face me, or some other stupid reason.
"It's not," Samantha replied instantly, taking a sip from her hot chocolate. I glanced over towards her, gesturing that the surprised news has kicked in me. "You're a doppelganger, that means there are others like you. You're not alone," She finished, sounding proud of herself. Shane raised one of his perfect brown eyebrows in confusion. I didn't say anything to that explanation. It sounded almost too unbelievable.
"And basically, if you want protection you'd want to sign a contract with either myself, or Shane." Rosen folded his arms, feeling uncomfortable. He looked as if he didn't want to talk about this topic of conversation. It was my turn to raise an eyebrow.
"Wait, why can't I use Samantha's?" I remarked, sounding curious. Shane scoffed, as if I was a complete idiot.
"She isn't any sort of immortal, or has any immortality traits. So if I were you, you'd either have to get me for a contract, or him. Give or take. Either which way I wouldn't give two damns." Shane replied, sounding like a know-it-all. He folded his arms awkwardly and coughed ,as if he had a cough stuck in his throat. I felt my face heat up with embarrassment. Rosen sighed and glared at Shane, who raised his eyebrows almost as if that situation was too good to be true.
"W-wait, wait, wait-" I started, stammering. "I still need answers,"
Shane scoffed again, then trailed of with another good chuckle. "You're a doppelganger for Elizabeth, you're blood is the only type of blood that can create hybrids for Rick... and we're just... something you would call... a rebel alliance." he studied my facial expression. I felt tired and confused. But if anything my facial expression showed that I was bored.
"Yeah, and... what is a doppelganger, exactly?" I asked, sounding harsh. I didn't mean too. They weren't explaining things properly. Samantha sighed uncomfortably, and folded her arms.
"You're a human key, basically and a human shadow. Rick wants you dead so he can create his precious hybrids, and... if Rick wants you, everyone wants you." Rosen stated, sounding completely normal about this. I shook my head at them, finding it too hard to believe.
"There's no way, I mean, I cant be. Nope.-"
"Yeah well toughen up, because until October, you've got some preparing to do. So, who's it going to be. Myself, or Rosen?" Shane interrupted, sighing as if he was getting exhausted of this. I gulped slowly, and rubbed my sweaty palms down my denim jeans. I gazed both at them, even though Shane was a dark angel, he looked almost pure. But I couldn't possibly contract myself to him- seeing as he looked like he had other important things to do other than protect me.
I sighed and walked over to Rosen. "I choose you," I answered, feeling as if I made the wrong choice.
