When we get to Charlies, Jake turns his bike off. I hop off, and he puts the kickstand down, and we head toward the backyard.
"Hey. You heard anything?" he asks when he sees us. He was in the middle of chopping wood.
"Charlie, Bella is... uh..." Jake starts.
"No, she's not," he says.
"No, no, no, she's fine. She's back home and she's feeling better,"I say from behind Jake.
"Why didn't you say so? That's great," he says. He slaps Jakes shoulder as he walks past him. He's probably going to see Bella.
"Wait. There's something you need to see first," Jake says.
"I need to see Bella," he says.
"Charlie, just trust us. You need to know this," I say. We came up with this plan on the way here.
"Look, in order for Bella to get better, she had to... change," Jake says.
"What do you mean, 'change'?" Charlie asks.
"Here goes nothing," Jake mumbles so that only I can hear. He starts taking his clothes off, and he starts with his jacket.
"What the hell are you doing?" Charlie asks.
"You don't live in the world you think you do," I say as Jake pulls his shirt off.
"Jacob, put your clothes on," he says.
"Now this may seem strange," Jake says as he kicks his boots off,
"Really strange," I mumble.
"But, stranger things happen everyday. Trust me," he says as he unbuttons his pant. Charlie quickly moves and puts a hand over my eyes.
"I'm fine Charlie,: I say. I push his hand away, right as Jake phases,
"Holy shit!" Charlie jumps away, and falls.
"Jake, you could've at least told him!" I say. I walk up to him and scratch him behind the ears.
"What the hell?!" Charlie says.
"There is such a thing as werewolves. We aren't-" I start.
"What do you mean 'we'?" Charlie asks, "Are you a dog too?"
"Not dog, wolf," I correct him. Jake had phased back, and was putting his clothes back on.
"H-how is this possible?!" he asks.
"There's a bonfire next week, come, you'll know everything then," I say.
"We should get back," Jake says.
I give Charlie a hug, and say, "You should come over."
"I can follow you guys," he says. I nod, and we all head back up.
Jake and I hop on his bike, and Charlie says, "You are not riding that! At least not without a helmet!"
"If I fall off, I'll heal faster than any human. I'll be fine, you trust Jake, right?" I ask. He nods. "Then trust that I won't get hurt." With that, Jake speeds back to the Cullen's.
When we get there, we go straight in, and Jake tells Edward and Bella what we did.
"Look, I solved a problem," Jake says.
"You were leaving, what did you expect us to do?" I ask.
"You don't realize the danger you've put him in. The Voltouri will kill anyone who knows about us," Bella says.
"No, I didn't tell him about you. Just us," Jake says, "I only said you were different."
"And that we have a neice that we adopted," Edward says.
"I mean, seriously, he's not just gunna let that go," Bella says.
"Did you consider the physical pain he'll put Bella through? It'll be like sticking a white hot branding iron down her throat. And that's assuming she can control her thirst," Edward says.
"Look, Charlie's been in hell. And I know you'll be much happier with him in your life," I say.
"Don't try to pretend you're doing this for anyone but yourselves," Edward says. I feel my hands clentch into fists. I swallow and push down my wolf, as much as I can.
"I'm sorry you feel that way," Jake says, "because he'll be here in ten minutes."
"What?!" Bella asks. I stalk off, and to the woods, to run it off. I run for at least five minutes, and I go back.
"You okay?" Jake asks when I walk inside.
"I'm fine, I just needed to run it off," I say as I sit down next to him on the couch.
I watch Alice put brown contacts in Bella's eyes, to cover her creepy red ones.
"These will irritate your eyes at first," Alice says about the contacts.
"The main thing is not to move too fast," Carlisle says.
"Try taking a seat. Crossing your legs," Esme says.
Bella gets up, and speeds across the room, and sits down, causing the chair to slide backward. She crosses her legs slowly.
"Maybe a tad slower. Hmm?" Esme suggests.
"And blink at least three times a minute," Alice says. Bella blinks about ten times, extremely fast. "Good."
I scoff, and Jake says, "For a cartoon character."
"Hold your breath. It will help with the thirst," Carlisle says.
"Just don't forget to move your shoulders so it looks like your breathing," Edward says from behind me.
"And don't sit so straight. Humans don't do that," Rose says.
Bella stands up and says, "Okay. I got it. Move around, blink, slouch." I hear Charlie's police crusier pull up. Carlisle went downstairs to greet him.
"Bella," Charlie says when he walks in the room.
"Hi dad," she says from her spot on the couch.
"Are you okay?" he asks
"Never better. Healthy as a horse," she says.
Charlie looks back at Jake and I, and says, "You don't turn into an animal too, do you?" Jake and I laugh.
"She wishes she was that awesome," Jake says.
"Let's give them some privacy," Edward says. We all walk out of the room, and Jake and I steal Ness from blondie, and go into another room.
After a few minutes of playing with her, I say, "in a few months, there'll be two babies running around."
"Wait, what?" he asks.
"You heard me," I say.
"You're... pregnant?" he asks. I nod slowly. "Why didn't you tell anyone?"
"I am right now," I say.
"I meant before that," he says.
"I was scared," I say.
"When?" he asks.
"The night before the campout," I say, and he gives me a questioning look, "The one before the battle with the newborn army."
"When you stayed at Embry's?" he asks.
"Yup," I say.
"So I'm going to be an uncle?" he asks.
"Yup," I say, popping the "P."
"Well then, I'm going to be the greatest uncle ever!" he says.
"You're going to be the only uncle this baby has," I say as I point to my stomach.
"That's true, huh?" he says.
"I'm pretty sure there's going to be a bunch of new additions to the packs," I say.
"What do you mean?" he asks.
"The Voltouri will interveene soon, and I'm sure Carlisle will bring witnesses. More vampires mean more werewolves," I explain.
He sighs and says, "You're right."
"Until then, I'll keep a watch for any kids who's moms pissed them off enough!" I say.
"And this is why you are Beta!" Jake says giving me a hug.
"Excuse me, can I take her? Charlie will want to see Renesmee," Edward says.
"Uh, sure," I say before Jake passes her to me, so I can hand her to him. Jake and I get up, and walk outside, and wait for Leah and Seth to come back, so we could take over patrols for them.
