Welcome to Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
The blue sign said as I entered the quaint town in the legendary United Kingdom. This was the first place I was going to start my search for the people who murdered my parents. They seemed to always be travelling here and always conversing with it's citizens, why I did not know. All I did know was that this was the best-and only-place to start.
As I parked my car in the last parking space in front of a small bakery, I made my way inside as the scent of sugar and pastries fill my senses and I'm engulfed in a warm and homey atmosphere.
"Hello, love! Welcome to our bakery! It's the finest Holmes Chapel has ever seen!" A boy who looked around my age exclaimed cheekily, a wide dimpled smile plastered across his face.
"Hello," I replied politely with a small wave.
"What can I get you today?" The boy asked, his arms braced atop the glass cases where various sugary pastries and cakes were displayed.
Tapping my glove-clad fingertips against the glass lightly, I scanning the various tasty treats until I came across one that made my mouth water with desire.
"One chocolate éclair please." I told the boy as he nodded and told me the amount I needed to pay.
As I gave him the money, our hands brushed together and our eyes locked for a few seconds before he retracted his hand.
When our hands brushed together, the spots where our skin met grew warm and I was vaguely reminded of a fireplace. He must have a high body temperature to make me feel warm.
"Now eat it." The boy said, propping his muscular arms on the wooden counter top beside the register, his face resting in the triangular space his hands created.
"Excuse me?" I asked, confused at what he meant.
"I want to see you try it. I want to see your reaction as you taste the most amazing thing you've ever eaten." He explained, green eyes fiery with excitement.
"Okay..." I drawled out, unwrapping the chocolatey goodness from the napkin and taking a bite.
It was literally the best thing I had ever eaten in my life. The pastry part of the eclair melted in your mouth instantly and he chocolate was to die for.
"Oh my god this is so good." I moaned in happiness as I took another small bite.
"I told you we had the finest pastries you'll ever eat." The boy said cheekily as I rolled my eyes at him but still smiled slightly.
"So what is your name lovely?" The boy asked, leaned farther on the counter, his arm used to hold his weight.
"Um, Rainia. Rainia Blue." I said hesitantly, not entirely sure I should be doing this but ultimately telling him my name. I couldn't hurt him by telling him my name could I?
"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl. I'm Harry. Harry Styles." He said, mimicking the way I told him my name while giving me a cheeky, knowing smile.
"Hmph. Well Harry, as fun as this is I really need to get going." I said, giving him a small smile while walking towards the door.
"Wait! How long are you staying here? Before you say that you live here, you didn't before." He said hastily, shocking me by knowing I wasn't from around here without me having told him.
"Um, I'm not sure yet. I'm from America by the way." I trailed off, not sure how to answer that and after saying a soft goodbye, I left the bakery before he could get any more questions in. I wasn't here to build relationships.
I wasn't here to hurt anyone.
