I felt a cold, icy wetness on my face as I awoke. Water was dripping down my face and my hands were bound to a wall. Cole stood before me, a smirk crossing his face.
"Morning, sunshine." He said to me. I rolled my eyes at him and stayed silent. I hoped Luke would pull through and bring the other to help us. "Giving me the cold shoulder? Real nice." He said, grabbing my face to look him in the eyes.
"Unfortunately, I don't take the cold shoulder well." Cole said to me.
"What do you even want from me?" I asked him. "I knew Gabriel wanted me but now you're coming onto me too? I really need to invest in some boy repellent." I said, which earned me a smack across the face. "Oh, and temperamental too. Go ahead, pretty boy, hit me again I'm sure Gabriel will really appreciate that." I said spitting on the ground.
"So what if I'm coming onto you. Gabriel isn't the boss of me. As for hitting you I told Gabriel I would keep you in good shape." Cole said smoothly. "Plus I don't have to take my anger out on you, I can always just take it out on your friend." He laughed, placing a hand under my chin lightly.
"Don't you dare lay a hand on him." I said, outraged. He laughed and came uncomfortably close to my face.
"And who's going to stop me? You're chained to a wall and your powers are useless as long as I have something to say about it." He added. I took that chance to spit on his face, sending him backwards and falling onto the ground. I smirked and laughed at him. His pale face flushed with red. He got himself up and smoothed out his dark clothes and his black hair.
"Stupid bitch." He muttered to himself. "As much as I'd like to wipe that stupid smile off your face I actually had a reason to come here." He unlocked the cuffs on my hands and lifted me up. I saw that my wrists had been rubbed raw from me tugging on them.
"Oh, I just thought you loved my company. Where are we going anyways? Is Zander going too?" I asked. He didn't respond as he lead me through the door and out into a dark hallway. Cole opened another door and I lost my breath. We were in what looked to be an old destroyed city. The building we left seemed to look new compared to the rubble around us. As we walked a temple rose up and I realized that was where we were going. This also looked brand new and it stood in almost the middle of the city.
"So is this where we are going? To the temple? To do what, make some weird sacrifice and be in your so called cult?" I said, almost venomously.
"No. He wants to see you." I didn't need to know who he was to make my heart lurch and the world feel like it was spinning. He grabbed one off the big double doors and gestured for me to go inside.
"Well at least it seems that you can be a gentleman sometimes." I said before he rolled his eyes and gave me a hard push into the temple. Power surged back through my veins and I laughed. I let out a confident yell and let my fingers get absorbed in fire, then my hands, then my whole body was covered in a yellow and orange flame. I looked around and saw that the temple was made of a hard, black stone and sometimes gold was laced in it in places. The gold made decorative shapes and figures all along the walls. I put my hands on the wall and the flame extinguished immediately. I was puzzled by this and continued to try to put flame on the wall.
"It's enchanted, Hailee." A voice that sent shivers down my spine said. "This whole temple is. Nice though isn't it? Please come take a seat." The voice said and I did a 90 degree turn and froze. An all too familiar face appeared out of the shadows with a smile. The words left my mouth in a choked whisper,
