They had been walking, flying, and running for hours. Flit and Lykos, would pick up a sent, then lose it for what seemed like forever, and then find it again. Everyone seemed on edge and Zander seemed like he wasn't doing so good either. He had been passing out left and right on the back of Flit and Jacob was trying to tend to him. He would forget where he was sometimes or forget who he was with. He seemed to grasp a little bit of himself for the moment though.
"How is he holding up?" Trevor asked Jacob. He sat on Lykos back in front of the group eith the two smaller kids on his wolf.
"He seems to be doing fine for now," Jacob responded, sitting up. Zander stirred and woke up.
"How much farther have we gotten?" He asked them.
"A few hours or so farther. I would say for the time that you two were gone we only have an hour left," Trevor told him. Zander nodded and he shut his eyes for a moment. His spirit animal, a giant eagle, descended from the trees above and coasted low to the ground. Zander got up from his position on the wolf and hopped onto the bird.
"It's better for me to be on Zeus," Zander told them.
"How are you feeling?" Snow asked him. He loved that she cared for him but the fact that they couldn't be together forever because she was just a hybrid made Zander cringe with sadness. She was kept him from losing his mind by that mad man, Gabriel.
"Better, thank you for asking though," Zander told her. She smiled up at him and kept there pace towards where Zander could last remember where Hailee was.
They ran for a few more hours before the trees broke and a small town greeted them in eerie silence.
"Is this it?" Trevor asked. Everyone else seemed to think the same thing. Zander nodded and urged Zeus forward and flew down to the small building in which they were held. THe rest of the group followed him down there. He hopped of Zeus and the bird let out a slight screech that Zander laughed and smiled at.
"Brace yourselves, last I knew there were four trained killers in here," Zander told them, he looked over to Trevor, "one of them being your memory wiped bond," He said as they drew there weapons.
Zander kicked open the door, the hinges breaking from the force. They moved into the house quietly, but swiftly. Everything seemed to be cleared out. Everything that was once in the house was now gone.
"How does one pick up and leave so quickly? Are you sure this is the place?" Jacob asked him. Zander nodded quietly. He wouldn't forget the place he was unfairly beaten into submission.
Somewhere far in the house a deep laughter echoed through the halls. It made his skin crawl. A man, or what seemed to be a man emerged from the darkness.
"I find it cute how you think they would just wait here for you to come. God Gabriel is not stupid enough to do that," The man spoke. He seemed to not even touch the ground when he walked. His skin was white as paper and his hair hung in long black strands. Zander realized why it looked as though he was floating, he was moving with his mind. His thoughts where confirmed when the man disappeared and then reappeared behind Snow with a jagged knife at her throat.
"He left me left me for the fun work," He chuckled, his eyes looked dead and black. No emotion came from them. As Zander and Trevor both lunged for the man he disappeared, letting Snow shriek as she jumped out of the way from them. Trevor landing on top of Zander. The laughter continued.
This was not going to be an easy fight.
