"How are you today, Amelia?" Paulie asks and I crack a small smile at the fact that every time we see each other the meeting starts with that line. "Wrecked." I shrug and she cocks her head to the side. Humming a bit too. "Why so?" she questions and I shrug my shoulders again. "I don't know. Just that type of mood, I guess." I reply and she nods her head making sure to jot down small notes in her notebook.
"Why do you think you feel this way?" Another question is thrown at me. "I think I am just overthinking the whole situation with your friend." I reply and she smiles. "Why?"
I have an urge to roll my eyes, but decide against it. I shake my head and she leans on to her elbows on the table. "Did something happen during that family meeting, that I don't know about?" She asks and I shake my head again. "No, I am just not sure if his parents believed us or not, and if they liked me or not, and if I left a good enough imagine or not." I reply and she hums. "For a girl so young you sure do put yourself down a lot." She points out and I smile. "That's how I've always been."
"Is it our of self defence?" She says and I bite my lip, thinking about it. Is it out of self defence? "It might be, I mean when you put yourself down, its easier when others do too, you're just kind of used to the idea of thinking you're not worth anything. " I suggest and she writes that down too.
"Do you feel like you're getting better at handling stuff?" "No. "
"Do you feel better about yourself?" "It depends on the day."
She continues on asking me question and sometimes when the answer I give is not enough she would make me talk about it for a bit longer, until she is satisfied. When our session is finally over, I stand up fixing the bottom of my pink fluffy skirt down a bit to make sure it looks alright and she smiles at me.
"I'll see you in 2 days at the same time." She states and I nod my head and with a see you, leave her office going to the reception to make sure they have the next appointment down. "You're down at 3:15 on Wednesday." The receptionist tells me and I nod my head, fixing the strap of my bag on my shoulder, before making my way out of the building.
"Hi there." someone says from behind me and I turn sideways slightly, seeing the guy who Paulie is with smiling at me. What was his name again? Mark? Max? Yeah Max I think. "Hello." I reply and he grins wider. "You're the girl Jessie kept talking about yesterday." he says and I can just feel my cheeks being set on fire. "Nice things I hope." I mumble and he nods his head. "Yeah, he said his mom loved you, wants to see you again soon, but he is trying to come up with excuses why they won't be able to meet you anymore." He replies and I smile.
"I better head home. " I say and he chuckles. "Yeah yeah." He says swinging his hands around and I have a sudden urge to laugh my heart out at his weirdness. "Oh yeah." He suddenly exclaims. He wrote something down on a piece of paper he took out of nowhere. "I am sure he'd be happy to hear from you."
