My so called brother

Bobby married my mother Marry. As a bonus, I got two brothers. Greg and Niall Horan. Between me and Niall cut it out directly. I was the good girl and he was my opposite. I hated him.

5. The proposal

My mom looked sick, but she wasn't totally gone. I cried when I came into her room and I threw myself into her arms. I wouldn't let her go and she softly held her arms around my body.
"Darling, I'll be fine!"
I cried and didn't listen.
"Exact that said dad, too."
Greg came in and he stood by the door. I lay down next to mom in bed and I refused to let her go.
"They're going to treat me." she said and ran her hand through my hair. "I wont die."
I refused to listen to her. I knew that parents never told the whole truth, and I knew it was because I wouldn't lose hope.
"If you die, I will die with you."
Mom laughed lightly.
"No, you wont die. You'll grow up and you will one day be a mom of your own children. I don't want to give up."
Greg had been right. My mom didn't want me to give up.

I fell asleep easily in my mom's arms. I woke up by Bobby's voice and I heard he whispered so as I wouldn't wake me. I chose to continue to have close eyes and to not show that I heard them.
"She ran away from home." he whispered. "Greg and I were looking for several hours before he found her."
Mom didn't seem to care.
"What did you expect? Her father died when she was little girl and she's afraid."
My mom knew me and she knew all about me.
"I understand." said Bobby, and he sat down on a chair. "I'm just so scared that she will run away and become like Niall."
Mom laughed lightly.
"No, my daughter isn't like that."
I wished I could agree with her. I wished I could say that I wasn't going to give up, but I felt the lump in my stomach. Without my mom, I was nobody and I didn't want her to leave me.
"We must talk to her." he whispered on. "One day when she can handle the truth?"
Mom agreed.
"Hope will understand."
I didn't understand. I wouldn't listen. I didn't want to be the perfect daughter and I didn't want to hear all about her illness.

I was tired and I didn't have to go to school. I was more in bed than ever and I couldn't manage my life. I heard Niall came home and actually he was silent. I didn't hear that he scolded with Bobby and he didn't fight about trifles. Instead, all were silent, and I knew why. My mom was ill and as each day went by, I dropped hope more and more.

"You have to eat!"
I poked at the food and looked coldly up at Bobby.
He sighed.
"You have to eat to live!"
I sighed and noted that Niall ate. He sat quietly and seemed almost afraid of me.
"I'm not hungry."
"You ate nothing for breakfast?"
I sighed.

I sighed.
Bobby sighed.
"Come on Hope! You have to try and I'll do what I can."
I still poked more with the food just to make him more irritable. Bobby sighed, and it was as if he didn't dared to argue with me. I finally chose to leave the table. I went up to my room and slammed the door. I lay down down on the bed and let time pass. What was the meaning of life? All the people died all the time and I was still left alone.

I heard the door open and someone came into the room. I heard the door close and someone came towards the bed.
"Want to do something fun, something crazy?"
It was Niall. I didn't answer and remained. He sat down on the edge of the bed and seemed to try to get me to become a little more human.
"Hang out with me to the town tonight." he said and I sighed. "I can see that you forget the pain?"
I turned my head and looked at him coldly.
"And why?"
Niall seemed uncertain.
"It helps when I'm feeling crappy and why not?"
I sighed.
"Bobby wont let me go with you."
Niall grinned slightly and raised an eyebrow.
"That's what's crazy. I know how to get away without him knowing about it."
I just stared at him.
"And why do you care about me? You hate me and you don't care about anyone else?"
Niall sighed.
"It's my attitude. I refuse to show emotions and it's easier to be angry than to talk about what you feel."
I turned my face away.
"No, I just want ..."
He interrupted me.
"I promise, it'll be fun and I'll make sure you don't have a single dead moment."
I sighed.
"And how do we get out?"
Niall grinned.
"Play as if you would go to bed for the night. Daddy will never enter your room and I set up a ladder against your window."
I looked at him again and frowned.
"And if he notices that I'm not here?"
Niall smiled and chuckled lightly.
"I promise! He wont notice anything. Lock the door if you want. I'm just going to bring you to the action."
Niall looked at the clock quickly.
"It's almost six, but at nine, he ought to think you are sleeping. Pretending and tell him that you go to bed. I set up the ladder at nine o'clock."
I hesitated, but at the same time it attracted. I stared at him long before I nodded. Niall smiled and looked at me with a satisfied face.
"Put on something nice if you want. It's always fun with girls who look sexy."
I snorted.
Niall stood up and started walking toward the door.
"If you are going to fit in with my friends, you can't look like a wimp."
