“Why don’t you get it, Justin?”
“Because you’re not making sense! You have your walls up, but so do I. You have a past, and I do too. You know we’re perfect for each other!”
I scoffed. “You’re ridiculous.”
I turned to face him, anger blazing through me. “I’m a suicide mission. My mind is filled with demons and I’ve surrendered to them. I can’t do this anymore; I’m broken, Justin.” My voice began to rise as my anger grew and I met his eyes. “Why can’t you understand that you should stay away from me!”
He ran his hands through his hair, frustrated. “See, that's the problem. I can’t stay away from you. I haven’t been able to since the minute I met you!”
My breathing hitched as he came closer and closer, walking angrily towards me. He let out a frustrated groan as he pushed me against the side of his car. He brought his mouth up to my neck, breathing heavily.
“You have to keep going. You’re broken and I still love you. You’re still perfect. You’re broken, so let me help. Let me fix you."

21. Bad Boys Can Cook?

I opened my eyes to be blinded by the sun shining through the closed blinds. I turned my head to see I was on the floor in my room.

What the fuck?

I got to my feet to get into bed only to be met with someone already there. I flew back in surprise, nosily knocking over my nightstand,  shocked to see the most gorgeous girl ever… in my bed. Cassidy, wearing my shirt and boxers. She rolled over, groaning in pain. Her first hangover, obviously.

“Where the hell am I?” she asked, squinting at me. “Justin?”

“Uh yeah. You’re in my bed.”
“Oh no. We didn’t do anything did we?” She sat up super fast, panicked.

“No. No we didn’t.” I replied.

“Oh thank god.” She lied back down, groaning. Did she really dislike me that much that she was so relieved over not sleeping with me?

No you dumbass. She’s probably just relieved she didn’t lose her virginity drunk.

“My head kills. I think I’m just going back to sleep…” She trailed off. I smiled, all thoughts forgotten. She was so cute.

I opened my bedroom door and walked to the kitchen only to be faced with Abby, sitting at the table with a cup of coffee.

“Hey Abs. How are you?”
“Don’t be such a bitch, my head hurts.” She replied.

I smirked before I was filled with worry. “What happened with Noah? Is he alright?”

“Chill out. After he caught you with Cassidy-“
“What?” My heart raced and I started internally freaking out. I was ready to deny the kiss and flee the country, change my freaking ID if I had to.

“Yeah, he said he was playing tag with Cassidy or something, apparently. I guess that was his way of saying he was looking for her. They were both drunk of their asses so that's whatever, but after he found you guys he came back to me and told me that you said we had to go home so I shoved him in the back with Cassidy. Don’t you remember? I thought you were the only sober one last night? You drove us! You better have been sober you ass.”
“Yeah…I was.”

Just distracted because, you know, the girl of my dreams kissed me.

“Okay…” she looked at me suspiciously.

“I’ll make breakfast for everyone, just get out and make sure Cass doesn’t kill someone. First hangovers are a bitch.”

“Sure thing buddy.”

I quickly got out the Tylenol for Cassidy and a glass of water and snuck back into my room.

“Hey, Cass?” I mumbled, trying to wake her up.

“Take this, it’ll make you feel better.”

She barely opened her eyes but took the tablets and water from me. I made sure she didn’t choke herself and exited.

“Thank you.”

I beamed, happiness flooding my senses. I made my way back into the kitchen and took out the ingredients for pancakes.

“I hope I did this right.” I said as I put pancakes on the plate for Cassidy, Noah, Abby and I.
“They’ll be great.” Cassidy said kindly. I felt my cheeks heat up and I rubbed the back of my neck.

“Uh, thanks Cass.”

I avoided Abby’s suspicious gaze, too scared she’d see straight through me.

“Holy shit, these are so good.” Cassidy moaned. Then she smirked at me. “I didn’t know bad boys could cook.”

“Mmm, I know. They’re fucking amazing Justin.” Noah agreed, packing his face with food.

“Thanks guys.”

I ate in silence while the others spoke among themselves and continuously ignored Abby’s skeptical looks in my direction.

“Well, my headache is gone… I’ll clean up.” Cassidy smiled, starting to clear the plates.

“Don’t be silly, I cooked I’ll clean.” I said, standing up. Noah and Abby exchanged knowing glances and I wanted to strangle both of them.

“Exactly, you cooked. Which means someone else has to clean, it’ll be me.”
“That's hardly fair, you’re hung over!”

“How about I just clean up instead-“
“No!” Cassidy and I said simultaneously, cutting Noah off.
“Then how about both of you clean up.” He suggested.

“Ugh, fine.” Cassidy answered, stomping her foot and taking the plates to the kitchen.

“Am I really that bad to work with?” I asked once I had met her at the sink. She shot me a glare and I put my hands up in defense. “Chill out girl.”

We remained silent for a little bit until I broke it. “Hey, do you remember anything that happened last night?”
“No,” she frowned, “Why? Did I do something embarrassing or wrong?”

I thought back to the events last night. She definitely did nothing wrong.

I shook my head, “Nah. You’re just a giggling drunk.”

“Oh, damn.” She laughed, shaking her head. “At least I didn't strip right?”

I shook my head, ridding the memory of sneaking peaks of her in that lace bra yesterday and laughed along with her. “Yeah, lucky.”

“I can't believe Nate ditched me again.” She sighed. I clenched my fists, anger raging through me at the mention of him.

“Hmm.” Was all I managed to get out through my clenched teeth.

Neither of us said anything while we washed up. I, eager to keep talking to her, splashed her with water.

“JUSTIN!” She screamed, mirth evident in her voice. Before I could stop her she splashed me as well.

She giggled and covered her mouth with her hands.

God, I love that laugh.

I grabbed a glass from the stack of drying dishes and filled it with water, before tipping it over her head. She squealed girlishly and ducked for cover. Soon enough, we were having a full out water fight. I grabbed the towel from her shoulder and whipped her with it, causing her to scream again. I poured more water on top of her, making her jump and slip over in the drenched floor.

“Oh my god, Cass are you okay?” I knelt down next to her, all traces of amusement gone.

She grimaced but her eyes were lit up with delight. “Yeah, I’m fine. I fall on my ass all the time.” She replied, her voice laced with sarcasm. I snorted and helped her up.

“How about you get cleaned up and I’ll clean the water up, yeah? Put something else of mine on, you’re just going upstairs anyway.”
She nodded, a smile still dancing on her lips. “Thanks, Justin.”

I watched as she walked back into my room and quietly closed the door behind her.

“I knew you liked her, I just didn’t know you were in that deep.” Noah laughed as I cleaned up.
“Shut up.” I busied myself with mopping up the water on the floor, refusing to look at him.

“Well, right now I’d assume that she would prefer you over Nate by a million years.”

“Stop talking about it.”

“And that's not even counting last nights events.”
“What happened last night?” I asked innocently.

He snorted. “Please. She was all over you, and don’t think you were the only one who witnessed that kiss.”

All color drained from my face, I felt like I was going to throw up.

“Don’t worry, only reason I recognized you was because of her sexy costume. Only reason I remember is because of that sexy costume. Barely anyone saw her last night, I doubt anyone else cared. Tones of people were making out.”

You should have pushed her away.

I put my head in my hands, thoroughly done with life.

“Listen, Justin. I know why you like her, she’s fucking perfect. I may not have known her as long as you have, but in the short time of a month I’ve grown to like her more than anyone I’ve ever met. She’s just that sort of person.” I stayed in my place, frozen on the ground. “I don’t care how you get her, but save her from Nate god dammit. We all know you two should be together, its obvious.”

When I said nothing Noah sighed. “Please, dude. Figure out how to get her, she doesn’t deserve to be ruined by him. He’s going to break her, you know he will.”

“JUSTIN! WHY DO YOU HAVE A GIRLS SHIRT IN HERE?” Cassidy shouted from my room, sounding a lot like a jealous girlfriend. Noah barked out a laugh before quickly covering it with a cough.

“I’ll figure something out.” I mumbled to Noah before turning and walking to my room.

“Drunken actions are sober desires!” He called out.

“Fuck off!”
