1. CHAPTER ONE

F'TAAAAANGGGG!!!

The bell rang to mark the beginning of registration just as I walked into school. Crap! First day at a new school and I was already late. I pulled out the crumpled map from my pocket and tilted it this way and that, trying to work out the quickest route to reception. Picking one out, I span on my heel and power walked there, referring to the map every few moments.

I sighed with relief as I turned on to the right corridor and slowed my pace into a walk. Just as I was about to walk into the office, my path was blocked by a couple, snogging viciously. The girl had bleached blonde hair and was wearing a pair of hot pants that barely covered her bum. In fact, they didn't cover it at all. She was on her tip toes and kissing a taller boy, holding him to her lips with his collar. He had curly brown hair gelled up into a quiff and one of his his slender, perfectly shaped legs was resting against the wall. I cleared my throat loudly.

The couple sprang apart and the girl turned around to look at me. She wiped her lips which were curled into a cruel smirk. She looked at me questioningly. The boy looked down the corridor sheepishly but still managed to look proud of himself.

"Yes?" The girl sneered. Her voice had a distinct American twang. The boy put his arm around her shoulders.

"You're in my way," I met her eyes, my glare defiant. She looked back at me and something about her facial expression made me think that she wasn't used to being stood up to. "Well?"

They both scuttled out of my way and stumbled awkwardly down the corridor on account of his arm still being around her shoulder. They didn't fit well together. Just as I was about to turn into the office and forget about the annoying couple, the boy turned around. His green eyes met my blue ones and he winked. Asshole, I thought to myself.
