Perfect Inconveniences

Ali Cross is different. She can see and hear things that other people can't. Communicating with the dead is only the beginning. Will she ever find a place where she belongs?

5. Everything's Different Now..

(Alison's POV)

The kiss was brief and it was only a peck, but it didn't matter. Nothing mattered, it was like we were the only people in the world for those few short seconds. It was, to say the least, magical. I know it sounds like every single teen fiction book out there, but it truly was.

We pulled apart and he beamed. His smile stretching all the way to his eyes, I don't think I have ever seen him so happy. It was nice to see him smile like that.

"That was, amazing" He blushed. I have never met a guy that doesn't care about showing his emotions as much as Josh, he would blush and smile lille a fool in front of me and not give a single damn. It was great to know that he trusted me with his secrets and his emotions.

'Theres somebody watching you sweetie' I wince when her voice pops into my head. Vivienne, she's a lovely older lady and was the very first spirit I had ever seen. She just sticks around, helping me when I need it. She treats me like I'm her child, well as much as she can. Im happy that she has stuck around, she has helped me through many embarrassing times.

'What? Where?' Im starting to get worried, what if someone heard us talking? We can't have people finding out anything about our..conditions...

'Behind the bush over there. I think she may have heard..' Viv popped up in front of my eyes, he wrinkled face was frowning as she pointed towards a bush not to far away from our current position. As I look around, I see Sally Nelson, a short blond haired girl, staring at us with wide eyes and her mouth hanging open slightly. Oh shit.

(Sally's POV)

"Dammit, where the hell did that stupid ball go?" I muttered to myself as I searched the bushes for my tennis ball. I was playing in the park with my dog, I do this regally when I don't have anything else to do, plus dingus has some fun, so thats all that really matters right.

I was searching through the bushes when I heard something disturbing..

"Theres this..guy, well a voice. Its inside my head. He talks to me, tells me things and fights with me. He insisted that he was a person, I know it sounds insane but I can't get rid of him. I call him blabs but he says his name is Lenard. I don't know how he got there or when he got there but he's a part of me. I know this is freaky and a lot to take in and I understand that you need time to take it in. But I want you to know, I really like you and I know we haven't known each other for very long, I have been happier than I have been in a long time, all because if you. If you want to leave, I completely understand, I just couldn't keep lying to you all the time."

What the hell kind of whack job is this?! I crouch down and keep listening. I eavesdrop, guilty as charged.

"I have to tell you something as well. This is going to be hard to take in as well and I hope you don't think I'm a freak. You know how you have a voice in your head. Well, I can hear that voice.

I can hear peoples thoughts, sometimes I can block it out but other times they just flood my mind. I can also talk to spirits, dead people. They have to talk to me first but I can communicate with them. I drank an experiment that my fathers assistant was working on. He's a scientist, I had a seizure and couldn't hear or see for weeks. When my hearing and sight suddenly came back, I could see things-spirits and I could hear their thoughts and other peoples as well. When you think about it, its funny. You have a voice inside your head and I can hear voices.."

Holy shit, this parks full of them!

"Oh my God someones here! They heard us talking!" One of them-The girl, gasped and looked around for me, I ducked out of the way quickly. How the hell did she know that I heard, and how did she know where I was, I was hidden.

Then it hit me. She could hear and see spirits, they told her where I was. They aren't some normal whack jobs, they are messed up fantasy freak whack jobs!

I tun back to Dingus and grab his leash. Running as fast and as far as I can. When I get to a distance where I think no one can hear me, I stop, pull out my phone and call my mum.

"We need to talk, like NOW"
