We arrived in Dallas yesterday. Everyone was tired by the time we got to the hotel so we slept and hung out all day. Today we get to do whatever.
After we eat breakfast, everyone gets ready to go to Six Flags. Our hotel is only five minutes from the place so we decided to go on our day off. We all pile into three cars and drive over.
We're the annoying group of teens that everyone gives dirty looks. With the combination of Cam, Nash, and especially Taylor, things can get pretty crazy. We get in line for tickets.
"We should go to the water park part first. I'm already sweating," Cameron says.
"Yeah," Nash flaps the bottom of his shirt, airing it out.
"Taylor can't swim," I point out.
"Can't he stick his feet in the wave pool or something?" Cameron offers.
"No. I can't get the stitches wet," Taylor speaks up.
"Oh, well, you can sit and tan," Cameron says. Why is he being such a jerk?
"Yeah," Taylor sighs.
We get the tickets and all walk over to the wave pool. We find a few chairs for everyone to set their stuff down. The guys all start to take off their shirts but my eyes stay focused on Cameron.
He smirks when he sees me peeking and I blush. Damn I forgot how ripped he is. "Are you going to swim, babe?" he asks.
"No, I think I'll just hang and keep Taylor company," I say.
He shrugs. "Alright."
Then it's just me and Taylor. "You didn't have to stay," he says.
"I know. I just didn't want to leave you all alone," I say.
"I'm fine. You can go be with your boyfriend," he says.
"I think he's having fun without me." We both look in his direction. Nash just tackled him and now he's got him in a head lock.
We're both quiet for a while before he finally breaks the silence. "Thanks, Josie."
"No problem, T."
Cam, Nash, Matt, and Carter get out and tell us they're going on some water slides.
"You coming this time, babe?" Cam offers.
"Um, that's ok."
"You've got to at least go on one ride with me," he says.
"Maybe in a bit. And I'll go on all the dry rides with you," I say.
"Fine," he huffs and then they're gone. Aaron and Shawn join us.
"You're such a good friend, Jocelyn," Shawn says.
I shrug. "I know he'd do the same for me."
"Why don't you just put a bag on your cast?" Aaron says. "Then you can at least go on some rides."
"I never thought of that," he says.
"Yeah! I'll go ask if they have waterproof athletic wrap. T, go get some bags from the gift shop," I say.
When I ask the guy, he hands me the entire first aid kit. I bring it back to the chairs and dig through it. I end up finding a roll of waterproof tape.
Taylor comes back with the bags. "Sit down, I found some wrap," I instruct.
"Want me to do it?"
"No, I got it," I say. I rewrap it around his preexisting bandage and the tie a plastic bag around his entire foot up to his calf.
"Ouch! I think you're cutting off circulation," he says. I loosen it.
"Yeah." We wrap one more bag over his leg and three over his arm. Hopefully that will be enough to keep them from getting wet.
We all get in line for the biggest water slide and the rest of the guys join us. "Think they'll let him ride?" Matt asks.
"I guess we'll find out in a minute," I say.
We finally make it to the top and Taylor goes first. "Hold it," the lifeguard stops him. "Sorry, but you can't ride." Damn it.
"Why not? Isn't it a ride at your own risk thing?" he questions.
"Yeah, but not if you've got a broken arm, stitches of any kind, heart problems, or any stuff like that," he points to a sign.
"Can't you make an exception?" I interrupt.
"Fine. I'll watch you guys go down," Taylor huffs.
He walks past me and I grab his good arm and whisper something in his ear. He looks at me as if asking if I'm serious. I nod and he just shrugs and shakes his head.
One by one everyone goes down the insane cliff slide. Cam goes before me and gives me a quick peck on the lips as if he's going on a suicide mission.
I glance at Taylor before going through with my plan. Then, I look over the opposite side of the railing. "Oh my god! Is that guy okay?!" I yell. The lifeguard pops up from his seat and runs over.
Right on cue, Taylor slips behind him and launches himself down the slide. "Woo!" he screams on the way down. Within seconds, the lifeguard realizes what we did.
He grabs me roughly by the elbow and yells down to the lifeguard below. "Hey, Peter! Stop that kid and send someone up here!"
I watch as Peter grabs Taylor by the arm and drags him off the slide, obviously pissed. As soon as someone makes their way up to replace the guard, he drags me down the stairs furiously.
Peter is standing at the bottom of the stairs waiting with a firm grip on Taylor. "Take them to the manager. Let him deal with them," the lifeguard that forced me down the steps hands me over to Peter, who grabs my arm again.
We walk in silence to the manager. Peter has us sit in an office while he talks to the guy, probably telling him what we did. Taylor leans over and whispers. "We're in deep shit."
Right then, the manager enters the room. I grab Taylor's hand to calm me down. He gives me a reassuring squeeze.
"Do you have any idea of how stupid that little stunt was?" We don't say a word. "You could have gotten us in trouble! There could have been a lawsuit! Most importantly, though, you could have gotten hurt."
"You're right, sir," Taylor practically mumbles.
The manager eyes him as if trying to determine if he's serious. Then he finally says, "What are your names?"
"Taylor and Josie, sir."
"It's actually Jocelyn," I correct him. I never introduce myself as Josie because Taylor's the only one who calls me that.
"I'm Patrick, nice to meet you." We shake his hand.
"Alright, Taylor and Jocelyn, you seem like nice kids, so I'm not going to call the cops. But, you are no longer allowed in the water park." We nod. "So I'm going to need your full names and a picture. Peter go grab the camera!"
Peter, who's in the other room begins to fumble around. "So are you from around here?" Patrick asks.
"No, we're visiting from Indiana," I speak up.
"What brought you here?"
I look at Taylor. Should we tell him we're with MagCon? "We're just kind of traveling the country over summer," Taylor says. It's not exactly a lie.
Peter comes in with the camera. "Here you go, sir."
"Alright, stand over there," Patrick points towards a wall.
Taylor and I do as we're told. T puts his arm around me and then gives a thumbs up to the camera.
