Taylor leaves me in the hallway. I sigh and slump against the wall. A couple minutes later, Cameron joins me.
"Rough day," he beaks the silence.
"I'm glad Taylor's alright," he says wrapping an arm around me. I bury my face in his shirt.
In the morning before breakfast, Taylor comes up to me and asks to talk.
"So now you're ready to talk?" I say.
He sighs. "Yeah. Listen, I'm sorry about how I acted last night. I was just a little embarrassed."
"I know, T. There's no need for an apology. But, you scared me!"
"I scared myself," he jokes.
"How's your arm feeling… and your giant bruise?" I ask.
"It hurts when I laugh, but other than that I'm fine."
"Okay, good," I say.
I lightly hug him, careful not to hurt him. He wraps his good arm around me. His left arm is in a sling.
I hear someone clear their throat. "Hey guys, was I interrupting something?" Cameron is standing there with his hands in his pockets.
I pull away from Taylor. "No… um, we were just talking," I say.
"Oh, alright," Cam says, obviously still suspicious.
"So, Taylor. I wanted you to be one of the first to know. Cam and I are dating ," I say. Cameron puts his arm around me.
His face changes. His eyes look almost hurt for a moment but he quickly pushes that away. His expression is now unreadable.
"Cool," is all he says.
"Yeah, so should we go eat breakfast?" Cameron offers.
I nod and Taylor walks off. Cam pulls me aside. "What was that?"
"What do you mean?" I question.
"You and Taylor," he suggests.
"Hold on. There's nothing going on between Taylor and I. I was just hugging him. He almost died yesterday! Trust me you have nothing to worry about."
His chocolate eyes search mine for a minute before he takes a breath. "Okay."
"Let's go eat." I start to walk towards the lobby. He follows.
"I see the two lovebirds are finally here," Nash jokes.
Everyone looks up. "You two are dating?" Matt says.
"Yeah," Cam says, grabbing my hand.
"Since when?" Carter asks.
"Since the first day of Magcon," Mahogany says. "Jeez, guys, get with the program." I told her right when it happened.
"Just so you know, he picks his nose," Matt says.
"And talks in his sleep," Cameron adds.
"And his feet smell," Carter says.
"You know it," Cameron laughs.
I giggle. "Good to know."
I glance over at Taylor. He's staring at his plate, pushing around his good with a fork. He hasn't said a word since he sat down. God, I hate when he's quiet like that.
He stands up. "I'll be in my room," he says excusing himself.
"Taylor, you didn't eat anything," I say.
"I'm not hungry," he says without turning around.
I follow him around the corner. "What the hell is up with you?" I ask.
"Nothing. I'm fine, I'm just not hungry," he says.
"Taylor, why are you being like this? What's bothering you?"
"Nothing is bothering me," he says.
"Don't lie to me, T. I know you better than anyone else, but recently, it's like I don't know you at all. Call me when you want to talk," I say.
I turn around and start walking back towards the table. This is supposed to be fun, but all I've done since we got here is worry about Taylor.
I sit down next to Cameron. He puts an arm around me. "You okay?" he asks. I'm done trying to figure our Taylor. Cam is my boyfriend. I should be putting all my attention into him.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
