Taylor and I have been best friends since practically birth. Our moms roomed together in college and have been inseparable ever since. They were both each other's made of honors, moved in next door to each other, and then had two kids the same age. My mom claims it was all coincidence but my dad five me they planned it.
We've gone through everything together, all the way from our first steps, to starting high school. It's almost as if we grew up as siblings.
I was even there for him when his parents got divorced. We were eight at the time and neither of us knew what was going on. So we just stayed up in our little treehouse, that is still planted in his backyard, for days until our parents finally forced us to come down.
We've been on a long journey together and it hasn't ended yet. Ever since seventh grade, when I discovered this app on my iPod called Vine, our lives have changed.
I used to take these terribly embarrassing videos of Taylor and we'd post them and see how many likes we'd get. We'd be lucky if we got one. But then, things skyrocketed for us when I posted this insane video of him skateboarding while holding on to the back of a truck. Long story short, that's how he broke his ankle.
Like every other time, I was the first to be by his side and I sat him on the board and wheeled him to the emergency room. Our parents were not happy.
I wasn't going to post it because I thought it would be stupid. But he made me do it and I am so grateful he did. We gained a thousand followers over night. We kept making our funny videos and soon we were up to 500,000 followers. It was technically his account since all the videos were of him, but I was always behind the camera.
It was a team effort, which is why, when he started getting paid for it, he gave me half. We did that for a while until he finally suggested I start my own account. With a little help from him, I gained several followers although no where near the amount he has. But now we run our own accounts and we both get paid.
Recently, the company has contacted us to go on this tour thing called Magcon. It stands for Meet and Greet Convention. Basically, we get to meet all of our fans and it's organized, unlike our last meet-ups. We get to ensure that we meet everyone and it's safer for everyone.
It sounds amazing. We'll be able to meet a bunch of other people just like us. We have actually met a few of them, though from past collaborations and stuff.
We've done a collaboration with Carter Reynolds, Mathew Espinosa, and Aaron Carpenter. I totally have a crush on Matt. I get all giggly and start blushing, which makes Taylor wrinkle his nose. If only Matt were single.
As for the other eight, we have yet to meet them. I am especially excited to meet Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas. I'm a fan of their Vines because both of them are hilarious, and Cameron isn't too bad on the eyes. So, as soon as school ends, in a fee hours, Taylor and I will be on the road to the airport so we can fly to California.
I can see why our parents are nervous. I mean, their two seventeen year olds are going across the country to go on this crazy tour they've never heard of. They still aren't convinced that this can be a job.
I don't care about that. I'm going to stand right by my best friend and we'll follow our dreams together.
