15. Can't you pretend to get along?

We got back from Six Flags just over an hour ago. Everyone has been just chilling out and hanging in their rooms. Mahogany went to hang out with Jacob so I decided to go down to the lobby.

The elevator doors open and I walk out. Matt, Aaron, Nash, and Carter are sitting on the couches in the lobby.

"Hey guys," I say as I sit next to them.

"Hey, Jocelyn," Aaron says.

"If you're looking for Cameron, he's outside by the pool with Taylor," Nash says.

I look out and see them through the clear glass. They look like they're arguing and then Cameron shoves Taylor hard in the chest. He stumbles backwards and then leans forward and punches Cameron right in the jaw.

The five of us scramble to our feet and rush out to stop them. But by the time we get there, Cameron's already punched Taylor. Hard.

Nash grabs Cameron and tries to calm him down. I kneel down next to Taylor and help him up. "Ouch," he says holding his side. He must have landed on his bad side because I only saw Cameron hit his face.

Aaron helps me with Taylor. "Let go, I'm fine," Taylor pulls away from our grip. He tries to walk away but he trips and falls right into the pool.

"God damn it, Taylor," I say.

"Shit," he says.

"I thought he wasn't supposed to get those wet," Matt says.

"He's not," I snap.

Taylor climbs out of the pool. He tries to leave but I stop him. "Sit down." He sighs and sits down next to Cameron, where I had indicated.

"It's not my fault," Cameron starts.

"Stop. I don't want to hear it. Aaron, can you go get a towel?"

"And the three of you go get ice," I say to Nash, Carter, and Matt. They get the hint that I need to talk to these two and leave.

"Jesus, you two can't even pretend to get along," I say angrily.

"I'm sorry," Taylor says.

"Why the hell would you shove him and start a fight? He's already injured," I say to Cameron.

"Are you kidding me?" He stands up. "He totally started it. He's the one that threw the first punch."

"I don't care who started it. I'm mad at both of you," I say.

Aaron comes back with the towel. He hands it to Taylor, who starts dabbing his stitches dry. We get the ice and they both hold it to their faces.

"What the hell even happened?" I question.

"He started accusing me of trying to break you guys up and I denied it. And then he said some other awful things and I fired back. So then he pushed me and I lost it. I punches him with my bad arm, which was a bad idea because now it hurts like hell," Taylor says.

"Anything to add, Cameron?" I cross my arms.

"Yeah, he hates me. He hates the idea that I had the guts to ask you out and he didn't. He mad because he obviously likes you."

"Shut up!" Taylor yells.

"Come on, everyone knows it! They just don't say anything," he continues.

"Cameron stop it!" I yell. "Why are you being such an ass?" I ask.

"I'm just telling the truth that everyone else is too scared to say," he says.

"That's enough. Come on, Taylor. We have to get that cast dry," I say. I grab his wrist and pull him along behind me.

"Jocelyn, wait!" Cameron says.

"No, that's it. You took it too far. We're done," I say. I turn around and don't look back.

Taylor's eyes are big like he's shocked. Once we get inside the elevator, he pulls me into a hug.

"I'm still mad, T," I say into his chest. He's still sopping wet.

"I'm sorry," he says.

"I know."

The elevator doors open.

We go into my room and he sits by the sink in the bathroom. I plug in my hair dryer and put the heat setting on low.

"Why is it that you're always taking care of me? Shouldn't it be the other way around?" Taylor says.

I shrug. "We take care of each other." It's quiet for a moment except for the roar of the hair dryer. I feel his eyes watching me and blush. I don't know why, I've never felt flushed around him. "Alright, I think you're all dry," I say.

He nods and slides off the counter top. He's only inches away from me. "Thanks," he says before walking out of the bathroom.

"No problem," I follow him back into the room.

We stand there for a moment as if waiting for each other to say something. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow," he breaks the silence. I don't think there's ever been this much silences between us. He gets to the door and turns around. "Oh and Josie?"

My heart flutters. "Hmm?"

"Thanks again."
