"Liam James Payne, you transferred from Wolverhampton correct?" The lady asks, reading my file "yeah that's me" I say back to her "well Liam, welcome to Bradford High School, here is your locker number, here is your class schedule, and this is your temporary ID, Tuesday we will do pictures and get you a regular ID, and this is what you will use to get into the school.. Oh and today when you get to all your classes you will get books." she says as she hands me a slip with my locker number on it, a paper with a bunch of classes and times on it, and a temporary ID. "Thanks... Veronica" I say and I read her name tag. She's actually very pretty, long dark hair and tanned skin with glasses on. She smiles at me as I walk out and I go to find my first class. It's a lot more complicated then it sounds. Kids rushing everywhere, and I can already see that there are cliques and groups. "Great" I say to myself sarcastically. I walk down the hall, and I finally find the class room that is listed on the paper. When I walk in the teacher asks "you the new kid?" And I say "yeah, I'm Liam" and the teacher nods and announces to the class "everyone this is Liam, please make a seat open for him" he says, and a girl with blonde hair and pink highlights smiles at me and points to the seat next to her. I walk and sit down, trying not to look at the rest of the class, cause the air is already awkward. The teacher puts a book on my desk and goes to the front of the class and says "ok open to page three and we'll begin." And she starts to read at the top of the page; literature. It's a quote from hamlet
"To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end"
and a kid two rows behind me picks it up, I suppose finishing the quote
"The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come"
He says, and his voice a deep but strong and quiet. I turn around to see who it is, and the boy I see has black hair, a smirk on his face, beautiful brown eyes, long eye lashes, tanned skin, and long legs. He wears a SnapBack, long black skinny jeans, a jean jacket, a black t-shirt and all black converse. He is gorgeous. I turn back around and think "did I just say he's gorgeous?" I take a deep sigh, he's probably straight.
It's not like I have a chance anyways, I'm just an average teen guy with no life, he looks like the nonstop excitement type of guy. The class goes by fast, and I can't stop thinking about that boy. At lunch I get my food on a tray and I was going to go outside but then a thick Irish accent calls out "aye, new kid, you look lost, do you wanna have lunch here?" And I look around for the voice, and it's a blonde bloke with Ray bans on his face and sporting a tank top. He sits at a table and waves me over. "Hey my name is Niall, and I only got here last year so I know what it's like to be new" he says "my name's Liam, and I transferred from a public school down in Wolverhampton" I introduce myself and give him a little information. "Yeah obviously I'm from Ireland, my parents divorced so here I am" he says "same" I agree with him. "Anyone you fancy so far?" He says, pointing out around the cafeteria. "No" I say back to him, even though that mysterious boy that is on my mind. "Well, ok" he says, and he eats his lunch. I eat most of my lunch, but my stomach is upset because today has been awkward. "You gonna eat that?" He asks, pointing at my food "nah" I say and push it towards him "ahhh thanks bro" he says, and jumps right in. Not a germ-phob, I'll remember that. The lunch bell rings and classes start again, and me and.... Niall, was his name, we part ways and I try to find my next couple of classes. The teachers all seem to be fairly nice, and I keep my head down most of the time, and my headphones in, blocking out all means of awkward conversation. The final bell rings and we are free. I follow all the other kids outside, and I get on the bus. There's a group of kids outside the bus, loud motorcycles and burning cigarettes. I look and see the kid from earlier, and he is with a bunch of other kids, all dressed alike, and it sort of looks like a gang.
