Liam's body was found and the police suspected that he had been involved in shady deals. Right as it was revealed that Liam was a criminal. I was surprised and I followed the development in the newspaper. Liam had been one of the Mafia, and he hadn't only worked with house purchase. He had sold drugs and other things. It was a relief to me. I realized that I had every reason to be afraid of him.
"I have arranged a job for you." said Niall right as it was a day. "I have contacted a good company and they are willing to hire you."
I looked at him in surprise.
"Have you bribed them?"
Niall laughed and shook his head. He kissed me quickly.
"No, sweetheart. I have just told them that you're good and that you should get a chance. I have contacts and I got them to listen. You're going there on Monday."
My life began to settle down. I ended up at a law firm and was from day one there to help them with various trials. I ended up middle of the action and I loved every second of it.
One evening had Niall cooked. He had lit candles, bought roses that stood on the table and he had cleaned the whole house.
"We're going to celebrate!"
I looked at him in surprise.
"What are we celebrating?"
He laughed and kissed me.
"After dinner, I'll talk about it."
We sat on the couch and Niall gave me a glass of wine. We sat and talked for a while, before it happened. He sat and looked straight at me.
"I love you and you know I do everything for you. You are my sunshine and you are my only princess."
He smiled big and took my hand in his.
"Honey, I want to share my life with you and I want to always be with you, only with you."
I suspected what would happen, but I dared not guess. Niall knelt and picked up a box. He opened it and showed off a sparkling ring with diamonds in. I almost fainted and he looked straight into my eyes.
"Will you marry me?"
I nearly fainted. I just stared at him and then I realized he was serious. I also realized that he needed an answer.
"Are you serious?"
Niall laughed and nodded.
"Yes, I'm serious."
I threw myself over him and kissed him. Niall took his arms around my body and he ended up on his back on the floor. I kissed him and held him hard. In the end, I ended the kiss.
We got married late one winter day and I decided that we wouldn't have a big wedding. I just wanted to say yes to Niall and be with those I cared about. It wasn't the end, it was the beginning of a new life where I was Mrs. Horan. Instead of falling into the same old habits, we made every effort to not drift away from each other and we got a happy marriage.
One thing was changed and it was that Niall realized that money wasn't everything. He realized that he couldn't bribe people, just because he could afford. Instead, he slowly began to be in his father's company. He got the job and, indeed, he learned to appreciate life, to understand that you couldn't partying away the days. The old Niall was gone, but I loved the new Niall. He took responsibility and he made sure everything was handled in the best way.
A small end
