being different

Luna always knew she was different, normal kids didn't turn into animals, make things come to them, or any of the other things she did. It was a simple fact of her life she accepted it and tried to fit in the best she could for sixteen years. One day her mom tells her to pack her things, she found a school that are for children like Luna. So Luna is shipped off to Katsgrad boarding school for "Gifted" children. But even as she struggles with her classes, new friends, and boys; she realizes she is still very different. She isn't the only one to realizes this either and they will stop at nothing to get their hands on her.

As I walked out of the head masters office Lilac ran up to me.

"Are you ok?" she asked picking up my arm and looking me over.

"Yes, of course. Why wouldn't I be?" I asked confused.

"I was just messing with you." She giggled. "Any ways come on Ill take you to our room, Dean already brought your bags." The halls were empty as we walked through them again.

"Where is every one?"

"Dinner duh!"

"Oh." I said feeling stupid. "Hey Lilac are you and Dean like going out." I asked curiously.

"Naw. He just likes hanging around me because people tell him not to; we are just friends. Why do you like him?"

"N-no its not that! I was just wondering, you two would make a good couple."

"Aww thanks!" She said with a laugh. She led me to the girls dorm, and stopped in front of a door. "Home sweet home." she said kicking it open. I walked into my new room. There were two beds, one on the right and left. I could tell right away that the right side was Lilac's, The bed was unmade with cloths all over it. "I made it easy for you! The left bed, closet, desk, and dresser are yours. Every thing on the right is mine!" Lilac said and flopped down on her bed.

"Thanks." I smiled.

"No probs. Hey I'm like starving do you want to go to dinner?"

"No thanks I'm not hungry. You go though, Ill just put my stuff away." I said shaking my head.

"Suit yourself. Ill be back soon." she said and pretty much ran out of the room. When the door slammed closed I walked over to my new bed and opened up my bags, two of them had cloths and necessities, the other my sheets. on top of the sheets was an old stuffed rabbit with overalls on that my best friend Marco had given me when we were four.

"Hey Beans." I said picking him up and smiling at him.

"Don't 'Hey Beans' me! Do you know how long I was in that stuffy bag? Like a bigillion years! I could have suffocated!" He snapped at me.

"Beans you don't breath."  I reminded him. One of my many unfortunate "Talents" was I was able to bring things to life; like stuff animals and stuff, not dead people... I think. Anyways I used to have a lot of stuff that could talk but when my mom found out she went crazy and threw every thing in the fire, the only reason Beans survived was because I had left him at Marco's.

"What ever," he said crossing his little arms. "Lets go explore this place!"

"Ok." I giggled, he could never stay mad long. I hugged him to my chest as we walked though the halls, mostly because if I didn't he would jump put of my arms and run around touching every thing. Beans oohed and awwed at pretty much every thing, even the rusty water fountains. I stopped at a large window and looked out side. The sun was setting causing the sky to be brilliant colors of orange, purple, and pink.

"Hey lets go up to the roof!" Beans said suddenly.

"The roof?"

"Yeah we will be able to see the sunset easier." I shrugged and wondered around until I found a doorway that led to the roof. "Oh cool, this is just like High School Musical!" Beans said when we stepped out onto the roof.

"You hate High School Musical."

"Well yeah but still." He said as I walked over to the edge of the roof and leaned against the railings. Beans walked along the railing, singing High School Musical songs.

"Beautiful isn't it?" I turned around to see a boy with longish scruffy light brown hair and sunglasses. I recognized him from the hallway, he had been surrounded by a bunch of girls. I nodded and turned back to the sky.

"How can you see with those sunglasses on?" Beans asked pointing at him.

"Beans! thats not polite." I scolded him.

"Its alright, I can't really see very well." The boy said walking up next to us.

"Well then why do you wear them?" Beans said. Before the boy had time to answer Beans jumped up, grabbed his glasses and ran off. I looked up into the boy's eyes they were a beautiful amber with flecks of gold and bright sky blue.

"I'm so sorry." I squeaked. I chased Beans down and pried the glasses from his tiny paws. I looked down as I handed the gasses back to the boy ashamed of what Beans had done.

"Its not affecting you." he whispered.

"What?" I asked looking up at him. He was looking down at the glasses confused, when he didn't say any thing after a couple seconds I decided to leave.

"Wait!" he called right before I went through the door. "What's your name?"

"Luna." I said, turning back to the door.

"Alex." I heard him say as the door closed.

"You are in so much trouble." I said to Beans as I walked back to my room. He made a little gulping noise but did't say any thing back.
