I was sitting up in my bed when a girl with curly blonde hair came in to my room. I tensed up a bit, not knowing who she was. She gave me a small but weak smile. It looked forced, almost. I just sat there with wide eyes, wondering what she was going to say or do. I didn't know her, but at the same time, she looked almost too familiar.
"Hi, Necolle." She smiled.
"Who are you?" I asked quietly, eyeing her.
"How do I know you?" I ask. Her name matches her face. She looks so familiar and her name is echoing in my head. I know this girl, I just don't know how. I don't know if she's nice or if she can be trusted. I don't know anything about her, yet at the same time, I feel like I know everything about her.
"You might not believe me because I know you're struggling at the moment with your memory, but I can't hold this back anymore. I'm not even supposed to be in your room. Visiting hours are over, yet here I am. I'm making sure you're okay. But, I'm your best friend. More than your best friend, really. We're basically sisters. We spend every moment of everyday together and we tell each other everything. We know everything about each other. We know each other's deepest darkest secrets. I know you and you know me. And I'm going insane not knowing if you've gained any memories back. So do you remember anything at all?" she asked. I debated on telling her the truth. I didn't know this girl. Well, I knew her, but I didn't. But she looked so desperate for answers. I had to tell her. Something about her made me want to tell her the truth.
"I regained a few. Only a few small ones, they don't mean anything. At least I don't think they do."
"I'm glad. You don't even have to tell me what they are! I just wanted to know how you were doing."
"Great! So do you wa-" she started.
"What do you think you're doing in here?" a voice cut her off. I looked behind her and saw my nurse. She did not look happy. Ariana looked at me, smiled, and then turned around slowly.
"I'm... making small talk?" she said, trying to act innocent.
"Get out of here. If I catch you in here before or after visiting hours again, you won't be permitted to see Ms. Irwin at all. Do I make myself clear?" she said in a strict tone. Ariana nodded and gave a semi-frightened smile.
"Yes, ma'm." she said. She quickly walked past her and out of my room.
Sorry I haven't updated. I've been busy. I got my appendix taken out, then I had recovery. And then I had the school musical, grade cards, projects, and ugh. mess.
Short chapter, but at least it's something.
