"You ready, Cyanna?" Asks Kiar.
"Yes... I suppose!" I reply. I give the horse, which is leading our chariot a quick pat, as Kiar helps me up. Carter's stylist, Marinia helps him up next to me.
"Nervous.." I whisper to Carter.
"Me too. The capes, that's what scares me!" He replies.
"Hey, you two. Hold hands, it'll make you look like your on each other's team," smiles Marinia.
Carter and I lock fingers and I take a deep breath. District 4 is announced and Kiar and Marinia pull on our capes, making the black disappear and the gold come.
"Cyanna!!" Someone shouts in the crowd. I wave in their direction with my free hand and smile, Carter doing the same on the other side. We lift our hands up together, to show everyone we are.... On the same team.... Our horse goes around the circle at the end and stops. We watch the other districts come by. To be honest, District 12 look the worst this year. Naked people covered with coal.... Really?
"Welcome, tributes! I would like to wish you all well in this years Hunger Games," President Snow says coldly. I roll my eyes, carefully looking into the crowd.
Everyone claps for us and our horses take one last circle and trot into some curtains. I get off the chariot with Carter.
"Thanks for holding me steady, I nearly fell off." Smiles Carter.
"No problem..." I say and walk over to Kiar. He pulls me into a hug and whispers something:
"Cyanna.... The girl of gold,"
I laugh and say the same, doing hand expressions.
"You really stood out!" He says.
"Thank you. You did an amazing job on... This," I say pointing to my outfit.
"Your pin also stood out, it was shining."
"It was to remember my district," I repeat Barnie. I hope my mother and Pearl are proud of me. Happy, I have survived one small part of the games. I shiver, remembering that tomorrow and until the Games is the day we have to go to the Training Centre. Good. I want to show everyone I'm a threat.
They should be afraid....
