"Pearl!" I scream.
"Cyanna help!" Pearl screams.
How did she get here? She wasn't reaped! It was only Carter and I.
"Cyanna I'm here!"
"Wait! Stop!" Yells Jax, placing a hand on my shoulder, "Listen..."
I become quiet and Pearl's screams turn into a wicked squawk of a bird. Jabberjays. I shoot it in the stomach, making it fall out of the tree. I'm leaving the arrow there.
"It's a Gamemakers trick," I whisper.
"Yes. A foolish one. Give me your arrows quick!" Says Jax and I do. District 11's boy drops to the ground as an arrow enters his neck. The cannon goes and a hovercraft emerges from the sky and takes the body back up. Jax gives me back the arrows.
"Good shot," I smile.
"Let's find some new shelter. Who knows how many others are coming. Including the jabberjays," I decide.
"Alright. Have you got all the stuff?"
"Yes. Here" I throw Jax her pack.
"We should find a place with trees. We'll be hidden, right?"
"Right! Let's go."
We walk for a while until our legs get very sore.
You need to rest Cyanna. Rest now.
"Let's rest for a minute. Sort out the packs."
"OK," Jax and I sit down together. We spread out the packs and look at our supplies. Two bottles of water, two packs of crackers and dried beef. Four knives. A sleeping bag and the arrows.
"We'll make one pack with food and water, the other weapons. And the sleeping bag can go with the food and water?" Suggests Jax.
"Alright. I'll do weapons you do food supplies,"
Jax hands me my water bottle and I take a few small sips. I pass it back to her, and she puts it in the pack with hers. I place all the weapons in the bag, leaving the knives in one compartment and the arrows in the biggest. Then, I help Jax roll up the sleeping bag and place it in the pack.
"Come on. I think there's trees up here," I say and help Jax up with my hand. We pick up the packs, and I take the heaviest one. We walk on, and find a huge area with thousands of trees. Perfect.
"Cyanna! There's only five left!" Squeals Jax, "We can go home!"
"Yes! Now this is the hard part. The real Hunger Games. So we need to hide," I say quietly.
"Yes. And kill the others,"
We climb up a tree with lots of leaves and branches. This will be where we wait. Wait to kill and win.
