"Guys, this is Ruby." Liam smiled at me.
"Hi." I said awkwardly.
Harry grinned and held out his hand. "Pleasure to meet you love." He winked.
Zayn and Louis both said hello.
"Wait, aren't you my sisters best friend?" Niall looked at me.
"Yeah..." I looked at my feet.
"Huh. Thought you looked familiar..." Niall scratched his chin.
Liam motioned for me to sit down. I knew pretty much ALL the girls in the cafeteria were looking jealously at me.
"Hold up." Harry looked at Niall. "You're telling me, that I've been to your house multiple times, and yet I've never met her??" He pointed at me.
I blushed and giggled nervously.
"Don't mind him." Liam whispered to me, whilst Niall started talking to Harry.
I giggled again.
"So, Ruby, where are you from?" Louis's question startled me.
I stared at him for a sec, then said, "Australia. But we moved here when I was six."
Louis nodded. "That's cool."
"Um, I know this is kinda secret." I said, "but can you tell me why you got expelled?"
"Sorry, can't." Louis winked.
I smiled. I could see Liam was just about to say something, when the bell rang. I drained my Coke and stood up.
"Where you going?" I asked him.
"Drama." He checked his timetable.
"Me too!" I exclaimed. "Mrs Pill?"
He nodded, and we left the cafeteria together. Sienna quickly caught up to us and nudged my elbow.
"Ow." I exclaimed and hit her back.
She laughed. "Can I talk to you for a sec?" She asked me.
"Course. Do you mind?" I turned to Liam.
"Nah, I'll wait for you." He smiled and walked a few metres away, over to the drinking fountain.
"So what's up?" I turned back to Sienna.
"Why did you leave me?" She exclaimed.
"Are you kidding me?! Did you SEE the look Claire gave me?!"
Sienna sighed. "You overreact. Now the real question; DID YOU MEET HARRY?!"
"Yeah. He's a really nice guy." I smiled.
She stared at me in disbelief. "Nice?! NICE?! Of course he's nice!! Tell me something about him!!"
I rolled my eyes. "He's really funny too."
"I might have to sit with you guys tomorrow." She laughed. "So, I'll see you after school?"
I nodded and walked over to Liam.
"Sorry." I apologised.
"It's cool. I get it." Liam smiled at me.
I looked at him. I swear he was the most genuine guy I'd ever met. I smiled back.
We walked for a few more minutes in silence, then came to the drama room.
"This should be it." Liam held the door open for me.
I giggled and walked in. I didn't actually recognise anyone I knew except Zayn and a girl named Teresa who was also in my English class.
We walked over to Zayn and I beckoned Teresa, who came over immediately.
"Hey Ruby." She said.
"Hey. This is Liam and Zayn." I told her.
"Hi..." She smiled at them.
Our teacher interrupted our chat by starting the lesson. "Alright everyone! Welcome to drama! I'm Mrs Pill, as you probably could tell, and I am your new teacher. Now, could you please all get into groups of four!"
I looked at Liam, Zayn and Teresa. "Done." I said.
Mrs Pill looked at us. "Well done you four!"
All the girls who had been trying to get Liam and Zayn to come over and join their group, glared at me. I sighed and turned around to face Liam.
At the end of the lesson, Mrs Pill set us an assignment, due in two days.
"You guys free tonight, maybe?" I asked. "We could work on our project, then go grab some pizza or something?"
"Cool." Liam agreed.
Zayn and Teresa nodded.
"How about my place? 269 Greenland street." Liam said.
"See you at five." I waved goodbye and walked to my locker, where I found Sienna waiting for me.
"Hey." I smiled.
"What's up? How's it going with you and Liam?" She winked and I blushed bright red.
"It's okay, I know you like him, I won't tell anyone." She assured me as I opened my locker and packed my bag.
"C'mon, let's go." I shut my locker, grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards the car park.
"What's the hurry?" Sienna squealed, trying to pull her hand out of my grip.
"You need to help me find something to wear. I'm going to Liam's tonight to study." I blushed again. I watched Sienna's eyes light up, then she started to pull me towards her car.
"Let's go." She started the engine. "What time do you go?"
"Five." I checked my phone. 3:18. Under two hours.
