(A/N!!! I try to post weekly but if I don't, don't get mad. Please! I have loads if stuff to do. I went camping and obvi there's no wifi. So I'm really sorry if it doesn't come out on time. I don't even think I'm working on my other stories anymore, lol. But anyways, enjoy this chapter!)
"This is Jake." I hear them reply. My mouth drops. "Uh... Bye Jake." My voice is shaky. "No! Don't hang up. Please." I move my finger from the hang up button. "Fine. But you have 1 minute." I say setting the timer.
"Ok. I'm really sorry about what happened yesterday. I hope you can forgive me. Um, for an apology, I want to take you out to dinner. Not for a date but to catch up. I promise to get out of your life if you can come with me. Please." I sigh. "Fine. Where and when?" I ask.
"Tonight. At 7-ish? The cafe at the strip mall. See ya then?" "See ya." I hang up and throw my phone to my chair across the room. I shove my face into my pillow in frustration.
"UGH! Why?!" I scream. I sit up straight and fix my hair, like nothing happened and walked downstairs. I pass Ashton running passed me and going to the direction of my room. "Whoa, are you ok?" He asks. "Yup!" I pop the p. "I'm great." On the inside I feel like my life sucks for going to dinner with my ex-boyfriend.
"Claire, really. What's wrong?" He grabs my arm, not tightly, and looks me in the eyes.
"Jake asked me to go out to dinner with him." He grip got tighter. I didn't complain, only winced. "I'm gonna get that son of a-" "No. You don have to. It's not a date. It's to catch up."
"I still don't trust that bastard. Be careful, Claire." I nod and go to my room to find an outfit.
It's a simple sleeveless black dress and my black flats. I get my feather earrings and my silver necklace. With my black clutch in hand, I walk downstairs. The guys all stop and stare. Ashton looks at me with a worried look. I nod and mouth, "it's ok. I'll be fine. I'll call you" and blow him a kiss.
I exit the house and open the car door. Jake texted me the address and I plugged it into my phone an followed the gps.
When I got there, it didn't look like a café to me. It looked like a fancy restaurant. I got out of my car and went inside the building. I saw Jake sitting at a table and I walked to him. Someone stopped me. "Do you have a reservation?" The man asked me. "Um, I'm here with a friend and he's right there." I said pointing to Jake. He allowed me and I continued to walk to the table.
"Hello Claire." He says lively.
"Hi Jake." I say in monotone.
"What's wrong?" He asks me. "My boyfriend is upset! What do you want."
"I told you, to catch up. How's... life?" "Alright, without you." I snap. "Well this kitty's got some claws." I rolled my eyes and shifted uncomfortably.
"Well, if we have nothing to talk about, I'm leaving." His hand hold mine down to the table. "No wait! Don't leave. I have something to show you." He pulls his phone out and shows me a picture.
"This was posted last night. At approximately 10:48."
I look at the very blurry picture and make out two people. Kissing. I see a guy with shaggy hair and a girl with a perfect ponytail. The guy is... Ashton and the girl is,
"Definitely. Thee is very sad." His voice sounds different. More sophisticated.
"But.. Why?" I feel the hot tears run down my cheeks. "It's ok." "NO IT'S FUCKING NOT!" I grab my light jacket and get the hell out of there.
I drive back and I see the guys exactly where they were when I left them. Ashton gets up and follows me to my room. I walk a little faster than him an when I get in, before he steps in, I close the door on him. More tears fell.
"Claire? What's wrong? Please open the door." He knocks softly. "No! I'm not gonna fucking open this door. Get the hell out of here."
"Claire." His voice tenses, "What. Is. Wrong." I walk over to the door. I open it for my head to fit through.
"It's you! Jake showed me a picture of you kissing Olivia! I'm not gonna take this. Bye Ashton." I close the door, or at least I think so. Ashton's hand keeps the door open.
"When did I ever kiss Olivia?! You're oblivious. I wouldn't Kiss anybody but you. You mean everything to me. And if Jake can get a picture of me kissing 'Olivia' it's fake. He's just an asshole trying to break us up so he can have you back. Trust me."
"I don't think I can." I look down. "It hurts. Badly. I think you should go." I suggest, closing the door.
His hand still keeps the door open. "I would never leave you. Never in a million years. I love you. You're my everything. I would die without you. I'm really glad my mom dragged me out of the house." He chuckled. A little giggle escaped my mouth.
"There's that smile I've been waiting for." He smiles back. "I really love you, Claire."
"I love you too." Our noses brushed. His forehead rested on mine and he looked into my eyes. This moment could never end. He kissed my lips softly. By the end of the kiss, his taste was left on mine.
I loved him again. I smiled at him and let him back in. Figuratively and literally.
