When her past comes back to haunt her will Dylan be able to save her? Or will she pay the ultimate price from a past she tried so hard to forget?

3. Stupid Office Lady

(Gisselle's POV)

"GISSELLE WAKE UP YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE TO YOUR FIRST DAY OF HIGH SCHOOL IF YOU DON'T HURRY UP!" I heard my mom scream to me from outside of my door.

Ugh, I totally forgot that today was the first day of school.

"GISSELLE HURRY UP!" My mom yelled at me once again.

After I got dressed and brushed my teeth I went into the kitchen to make me some breakfast. I really don't like eating at school during breakfast time because I usually just sit there looking awkward. This year though, I plan on eating at home and during breakfast hour I will try and find a group of friends.

"No, you don't have time to eat breakfast at the house you will just have to eat when you get to school. Now, go outside and catch your bus before you're late to school on the very first day. Good luck, I know you will do excellent." My mom commanded. Well, so much for that plan. I'm going to need all the good luck I can get.

Winchester Falls High School. Seriously. I guess they couldn't think of a more creative name so they named it after the town. Like I haven't heard that one before. I noticed everyone kept taking glances in my direction, and I knew they were all looking at me. I mean who wouldn't? I decided to skip breakfast and head to the front office to pick up my schedule. I knew I was going to regret not eating breakfast, but there is no way I'm going back now. I had absolutely no idea where the front office was but I wasn't going to take my chances asking someone and making a complete fool of myself. No way.

I came upon a set of double doors that led to the outside of the school, and next to the doors there was a little office area. After contemplating on whether I should go into the little office my eyes roamed over a little slip of paper that was on the glass window. It read: FRONT OFFICE. Feeling deeply embarrassed I walked into the office and ran smack into someone, hard.

"Oh, I-I'm sorry I di-didn't see you th-there." I stammered.

What was wrong with me?

"It's okay. Though next time you might want to be careful where you walk and who you run into. Many people here don't like it when they get bumped, even if it is an accident." They said.

I looked up and I saw the most beautiful man that has ever walked this earth. His eyes were a beautiful light brown, his hair was a mess on his head but yet it still looked good on him, and his smile, god his smile was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I was so stunned that I didn't realize I had been staring at him with my mouth wide open. I quickly looked away, my cheeks getting warm.

"Uh, are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for the advice." I said, my voice sounding fragile and weak. I silently cursed myself for being so flustered, and quickly walked past him, not wanting to embarrass myself any more than I already have. I took a chance and looked back, and I saw that he was standing there staring at me with a confused look on his face.

I quickly turned my head back around and walked up to the front desk.

"Um, excuse me, my name is Gisselle Foster and I'm here to pick up my schedule." I announced to the lady. I didn't know if she heard me or not, because she never once glanced up from her computer screen. I decided to try again, this time making sure to speak up. "Um, I don't know if you heard me earlier but i'm-"

"Gisselle Foster yes yes I heard you. You're here about your schedule. Now if you just give me one moment then I will have that ready for you in just a moment." She said, barely glancing up from her computer to acknowledge that I was there.

Hmm rude. She could have fooled me. I didn't think she was listening by the way that she was staring at her computer, so oblivious to the world.

She had a pale face, long black hair streaked with gray, an abnormally big nose, and her eyes were a grayish color. She looked to be in her 30's.

She's probably pale because all she does is stay on her computer all day.

Stop being so rude.

I mentally shook myself and looked around the office. It was fairly small for a front office, especially when this is a gigantic school. I guess the people hoped that the students here wouldn't be getting in trouble and having to come to the little office. Talk about blind faith.

I looked back to the lady in front of me to see that she was staring directly at me.

"Uh Im sorry did you say something?" I asked her.

She snorted which sounded more like a cough, and gave me an annoyed look. "Yes, I said to sit down in a chair over there and I will have your schedule ready. I can't work with people standing over me, especially pesky little children."

I forced an apologetic smile on my face and turned around to sit down in one of the chairs, making sure I was far away from her as possible.

God, that was rude. How dare she call me a pesky child? How did she even get a job here? Why did she even apply for a job at a high school if she can't stand to be around "children"?

Maybe it's because they had no one else to apply for the job so they were forced to hire her. Or maybe she appeared to love children and was all goody goody on the outside but on the inside I bet she has a rotten core.

Having nothing else to do I decided to look at the clock to see how much time I had left.

That can't be right. I know I wasn't in this office for that long. That would mean I only had 15 minutes left to try and find where all of my classes were, not to mention where my locker is, and all of that important stuff. I couldn't possibly do all that in 15 minutes!

"Ms. Foster?"

I looked up to see the woman sitting at the front desk looking at me, with a paper in her hands. I got up out of my chair and walked over to her. She handed me the piece of paper that was in her hand, simply said "good luck", and went back to staring at her computer.

Was she mocking me? Did she purposely take her time so that I wouldn't have enough time to do what I had to do?

Come on Gisselle! You're wasting precious time. It doesn't matter anymore. The damage is already done. Just hurry up and go to your locker and try to find your class. You can just look for your next class when the time comes.

I gathered myself, and left the office. I had approximately 10 minutes until first period started.

By the time I found my locker and packed all the things I needed for first period I had only 5 minutes left. By this time the hallways were crowded with people, and it was impossible to get anywhere. My first class was geometry, and luckily while I was looking for my locker I came across the classroom. It was just around the corner. If only I could get there.

It was absolutely hell trying to get past these people. I didn't want to be rude and push these people out of the way but they wee starting to piss me off. I eventually gave up being the nice girl and started pushing my way through the crowd. Just as I was about to turn the corner and walk into the classroom the bell rang.

"Great. This is fucking perfect. I managed to be late to first period on my first day of school. Great going Gisselle." I murmured to myself.

I walked into the classroom and everyone's eyes turned to me.

"Ah we have a late comer. Welcome to my classroom. May I ask what your name is?" The teacher asked.

"My name is Gisselle Foster."

"Well hello Miss Foster. I am Mr. Garcia and I do not tolerate late students. But, because this is your first day of high school I will let it slide. Don't be late tomorrow, or I won't be so generous. Have a seat please."

I murmured a thank you and sat in the middle of the classroom next to a girl with blue and purple hair. She glanced at me as I sat down, and gave me a small smile before turning back to the front.

Great you managed to embarrass yourself good going. You're doing great Gisselle keep up the good work.

Well I wouldn't be late if it wasn't for that stupid office lady. I hope I never have to see her face again. Ugh, this is gonna be a long day.
