Miami's foot caught on a barrel, causing her to fall and making the horse she was riding go crazy. The horse started neighing and galloping around like a demon possessed it. I began to wave my arms and shout, "Hey-ah, Hey" to get it's attention. I get it's attention and try to make a run for it, but end up getting kicked in the shoulder by the horse.
"Son of a bit-." I curse. Miami does something incredibley dangerous and brave at the same time; she runs and jumps back in the saddle. She begins talking to the horse, whispering to it. The horse calms do and then Miami slides out of the saddle, handing the reigns to Sam. She asks me, "You okay? I didn't know Ocean Blue would do that.". The horse is named Ocean Blue? Isn't that...that's Annie's horse! I remember from the other rodeos/barrel races I've seen (Yes I watched Rodeos).
"Yeah, I'm fine. Ocean Blue's got one helluva kick.". She nods as if she knew what I meant. Sam walks over to us and asks the same thing Miami did. I nod again, ignoring the pain and throbbing in my shoulder. As we leave the arena, or whatever you want to call it, Sam and I fall back, letting Miami walk ahead. I ask Sam, "Would you have any problems if I asked Miami out?". Sam shakes his head and says, "Nah, I wouldn't. I really think you two are made for each other.".
"Why's that, Sam?" I ask. Sam looks around and then whispers, "You make each other happy, and she hasn't been that happy in a long time.". I nod again. I'll have to figure out a day and time to ask Miami, though, but now I can have a reason to be really happy other than Holly and Mom.
