Dismay

I thought I knew what was right. I thought I know what I wanted. That one girl who seemed perfect for me: or so I thought. All of a sudden, a boy intervened - everything I thought I knew was about to change. I certainly didn't expect this.

1. 1 - Today is the day

Soon, the tired, vomit coloured buildings rose above me. Here I was again, for the 1st out of another 5 days. School.

“So, are you gonna ask Jenny out?” Max asked with a grin.

“I’ve told before, she’s called Jennifer” I blushed, trying to avoid the question. I was going to do it today. Just imagining her crystal blue eyes twinkling in the warm spring sun made me smile. Her luscious blonde hair flowing in the breeze, her golden face so soft to the touch, the sweet fragrance that comes from her. I knew she liked me: I’d noticed every grin, look and wink directed at me. Two months of waiting, pondering, questioning; yes, I was going to do it today.

We continued down the path, quickly approaching the school gate. Max smirked, obviously acknowledging the fact that I didn’t answer his question. He didn’t push it any further. I looked up at the dull school blocks, knowing that somewhere in this maze of corridors and rooms I would finally do it.

“Alright then. I’ll see you later” I said.

“Ok. Tell me how it went!” Max replied, jogging down the path ahead of me; he was never late to class. Well, I had more important matters to deal with.
