Daddy

One night. That's all it took. But she'd never tell him. Because he was living his dream. And she was at home raising her daughter. Their daughter. "So Harry, do you want kids?" the interviewer pressed, hoping to unlock a new rumor. Harry shrugged, pinning his bottom lip between his thumb and index finger. "Yeah, eventually." Ari let out a little squeal, almost as if she were pleased with his answer. "Daddy!" she called, turning to laugh at me. "Ari, shh!" I tried hushing her, but it was too late. the band turned to face us, Ari began waving. I guess my shield behind the curtain wouldn't work after all. Harry's face went white, eyes wide and he stood up, storming out of the interview, leaving the rest of the boys to stare at us in curiosity

13. Chapter 13

I sat in cold bath water until I couldn't take it anymore. I jumped out of the tub and dried off, wrapping a towel around my head to soak up my wet hair.
I slid on my panties and bra, before bracing myself and slowly opening the door.

There was Harry, curled up by the bassinet with a pillow beneath his head and blanket covering his body. I felt relieved that he was asleep but also regretful.
This whole situation was my own fault, he was trying to do something nice for me and I had overreacted, taking my anger out on my poor lover for my sisters choices.

I tip toed around him, peeking to spy on a sleeping Ari. Her thumb was stuck in her mouth and her tiny body was moving up and down. "Happy Birthday, baby. I'm sorry." I frowned, moving to find some clothes.

I dug through Ari's diaper bag to find two shirts and no pants. I was in so much of a rush to get out of that damn house that I didn't even pack pants.
"Shit," I whispered.

Harry began to grumble behind me and I turned to find his eyes opening, looking right at me. "Why hello." he smiled.

I smiled back awkwardly, hoping he wasn't mad at me.
"I'm sorry, Maeve." he sat up, his eyes red and puffy from crying.

"Oh no, no. Harry I'm sorry. I took my anger out on you." I walked quickly over to him, he stood up and cupped my face in his hands. His mouth traveled across my face and his tongue found my lips, kissing me with pure and utter passion and apology.
He pulled away, watching Ari sleep for a second before leaning down and pulling my thighs around his waist, his hands grabbing my ass.

"I should have stayed out of your business. I just hated seeing you so sad about it." he explained between kisses. I rubbed my nose against his and smiled, "No, Harry. I love you so much." he walked us over to the bed that was hidden behind a thin wall across from the back door.

The dark blue morning sky gave us enough light to find each other's buttons and zippers. "I'll buy you any house you want. I don't care about the price, any house you want. Any house." he said again and again.
I spun my body to sit atop of him and then backed up, standing in front of his revealed chest.

His zipper was undone and his pants half way down his legs. His shirt was somewhere on the floor along with my bra.
Things went quiet and soon we just looked at each other. My body wasn't as nice as most girls my age but it was tiny for having a baby.
As if reading my mind, Harry placed his lips on top of my belly button, mumbling "I love your body."

I smiled and dug my fingers into his hair, tugging and playing with his curls. His eyes traveled up my body and met my own. His fingers twisted around the waist of my panties, tugging and pulling until they were at my feet and I kicked them to the side.

His smile grew and his lips left kisses across my waist, hips and thighs.

He lifted me up so I was wrapped around him again. "I love you." he whispered, taking off the rest of his clothes.
His palms felt cold on my inner thighs but I giggled.

Letting his mouth dip and bite my neck, I focused on the ceiling and let his body take me back to our first time.

The Christmas lights he had set up were the only thing lighting up the tiny cabin. The blankets that he had laid out were now messy and tangled around my body. My hands grasped fist fulls of fabric and my teeth bit tiny holes in my lips.

I gasped but covered my mouth, not wanting to wake Ari.

* * * *

"This flat has to be my favorite out of your selection," the real estate agent turned to smile at Harry and I. Ari cuddled tiredly into the nook of Harry's neck, sucking on her thumb.
"It's very private and not too big but not too small. It's beautiful." she continued, walking us through the house.

The floors were a cream colored carpet and the walls were all white, except for the three bedrooms. "This is the owners daughters room... She's about her age," she pointed to Ari.
The room was a very pale pink and was filled with teddy bears. "What about the master bedroom?" Harry asked, rubbing his daughters back.

"Oh, yes. This has to be my favorite room in the house! It's right this way." she shuffled down the hall and opened a a large-white double door. We entered into a beautiful room. One side of the room was all windows, while the other was an amazing collage of family portraits.
I walked over to the wall of photos, smiling in awe. Harry followed, wrapping his free arm around my waist. "I can book pictures if you'd like." he whispered.
I turned to him, "Harry, you're spending enough on this house." I giggled, deeply hoping he would book an appointment.

"Is that a yes to the flat?" he asked, eye brows raising. I looked at Ari, who has finally fallen asleep, then at Harry who leaned in and kissed my forehead.
I spun around to admire the lavender bedroom. I took a deep breath and nodded. "We want it."

HARRY'S POV
I watched Maeve smile as we drove passed our new house. The earliest we could move in was two weeks, so I had asked Zayn if we could spend the night at his place for a few days.
It had been a full two days since we had last seen Bennie and Maeve's parents. I was worried, I knew Maeve has missed her parents and wanted to say goodbye to not only Bennie, but to properly say goodbye to her parents.

I turned to drive down Bennie's street and instantly Maeve's head shot up. "What are you doing?" she asked, looking pissed.
"Bennie's leaving today." I said. "And?" she frantically looked out the window, trying to spy someone out front. "I know you want to say goodbye, Mae. She's your best friend." I explained.

Eventually we pulled up in front of the house. "We can leave if you want too, but Mae, I don't want you to regret not saying goodbye." she looked at her fingers, thinking.

"Fine. But wait here." I nodded and watched her get out of the car, counting the seconds before she turned back. By the count of eight she was tearing the door open and begging me to come in with her.
"I'll get Ari." I looked back and smiled at Ari, who was now awake and still yawning in her car seat.
"Let's go say goodbye, baby girl."

We walked together up the stairs, Maeve hesitantly knocked on the door. I was sure no one had heard, but surely enough there was her mum. Her nose was high and her lips were pouted, almost disapproving our arrival.
"Hello." is all she said, not looking at Ari or I.
"I'm here to say goodbye to Bennie." she said, sternly. Looking down on her, I knew she was mad. She was so short and tiny, but she had the temper of Jude.

"Well your behavior a few days ago gave me the impression you didn't want to see her again." Maeve growled. "My behavior a few days ago was completely appropriate for that situation. I demand you bring my sister to the door or I will go in and find her myself."

"Maeve?" Bennie's voice came from behind their mum. "Bennie? Come here!" she shouted and soon enough both girls had pushed by their mum and dad, hugging tightly while tears streamed down their faces.
"Bennie, I'm so sorry." Maeve cried.
"I'm sorry too, I should have told you. Where are you guys going to stay?" Bennie asked.
Maeve pulled back and smiled at me, wiping tears away. "We bought a flat." she smiled and looked at her parents as if to rub it in their face.

"Oh my God! I'm so happy for you!" they squealed and talked about the location. But soon Maeve's dad had to come in and tell them it was time to go.
"Bye, Bennie. I love you." she wrapped her arms around her sister and pulled her close. Bennie began to sob and rub Maeve's back. "I'll see you soon. I love you."

Bennie walked over and took Ari from my arms. "Bye, my sweet. Auntie will see you soon, okay?" after kissing her goodbye, she handed her back. Her sweater sleeve rising a little, enough to expose scars and scaring cuts.

No one else has noticed, not even Bennie. But she quickly pulled down her sleeve. It had all made sense now, why she was leaving and why she didn't tell anybody.
"Take care of my girls." Bennie ordered me, but soon shot me a warm smile. "I will, I promise." Maeve snuggled into my side and we watched as the three of them drove off back to Cheshire.

We stood on the empty house's porch for a while before Maeve had decided it was time to grab her things. She went into the house for the last time and grabbed the bags that her dad had packed for her and Ari.
She came out, puffy eyes and sick looking as she locked the house up for the final time and left the key in the mailbox for Jordan to come find when he moved back in next week.

Bennie had decided on giving Jordan the house, she didn't care what he did with it, she just didn't want to sell it herself. She refused to tell him where she was going, but he took her offer and decided to move in with his new girlfriend next week at the latest.

I walked Ari back to the car and then came back to help Maeve with the bags. She was quiet packing everything into the trunk, but when we were almost as Zayn's she turned to look at me.
"Do you believe in internal happiness?" Mae's eyes were glossy and sad. Of course I did. But I wasn't sure how to word it. So all I said was, "Yes."
"Why?" she pressed. I rolled my eyes but knowing she was sad, I answered the best I could.

"Because I have you and Ari. Now I know I'm happy forever."
