9. Chapter 9

Once we got Calum and Michael cleaned up I looked at my phone ans I had five missed calls from my mom. Oh no she's going to kill me. I've never missed a phone call from her. I walked out of the room and quickly called her back.

"Where the heck are you?" My mom yelled on the other end of the phone.

"Mom I'm fine I'm at Calum's. Him and Michael got into a fight with some of these guys so Ashton, Luke and I brought them to his house and we were cleaning them up and I had my phone on silent." I said. I didn't really lie they did get in a fight I just left out the whole part of me being the one who beat them up.

"Are they ok?" She asked worried.

"Ya mom they're fine. They have some bruises and scratches but they'll live. They don't need stitches or anything and you know I'm trained in first aid." I said a little relieved she bought what I said.

"Ok well just come home soon. Your father and I were worried sick. You never missed a phone call from us so we thought something bad happened to you." She said relived.

"I'll get Ashton to drive me home. I'll be home in a bit." I said.

"Ok we'll see you when you get home." My mom said before hanging up. I put my phone back in my pocket and walking back out to the living room. I saw Michael and Calum were both sleeping on the floor and Luke and Ashton were playing video games.

"Hey Ash can you drive me home?" I asked.

"Ya sure." He said pausing the game and getting up.

"Aw Kara do you have to leave?" Luke whined.

"Yes I do. My mom and dad are worried about me. They thought something happened to me because I didn't answer my phone. But I'll see you guys tomorrow at some point." I said hugging Luke,

"Fine." He said upset.

"I think someone's turning into a softie actually I think you all are. Maybe some of my niceness has rubbed off on you guys." I laughed.

"What?" Luke and Ashton both said taking a step towards me.

"Ok maybe not. Maybe you're still those mean guys." I said taking a step back.

"That's what I thought." Ashton said. I quickly got in the car I didn't want to stand there any more. Ashton followed me and sat in the drivers side. We pulled out of the driveway and I waved bye to Luke. Once I lost sight of him I sat there awkwardly.

"Did you really mean what you said in the driveway?" Ashton asked.

"Well ya. I've never seen Luke hugged someone and you guys stood up for me when the people from the alley were saying I was a terrible fighter." I said.

"Well it seemed like something a friend would do." He said.

"Well would you hug Michael and would you stick up for Luke? Probably not." I said.

"Well they can handle themselves but you're a girl." He said stopping at the stop light a couple blocks away from my house.

"What you think because I'm a girl I can't take care of myself? Well I would prove different." I said turning my face so I was looking out the window.

"I didn't mean it like that sorry." He said I just smiled and turned to face him again.

"See you just proved my point you guys are going soft. Since when have you said sorry to someone." I said smiling.

"Shut up and we're at your house." He said stopping the car.

"Ha you know I'm right and you can't say something back. I win." I said closing the car door behind me.

I opened my front door and saw that my mom and dad were both standing there. They both looked at me like I did something wrong.

"Kara we have to talk to you about your friends." My dad said.

"What do you have to say about them?" I said setting my bag by the little table by the door and slipping my shoes off.

"We don't want you hanging out with them any more." My mom said plainly.

"What?!" I asked shocked.

"Kara they made you skip school and they made you come home late not to mention you missed all your shifts at Starbucks this week." My mom explained.

"I don't get it. You told me to make friends and that's what I did and now you're telling me that I have to stop being they're friend?!" I yelled.

"Don't you raise you voice at us." My dad said sternly.

"I can do what ever I want! I'm seventeen I'm not five!" I yelled.

"Kara relax." My mom said calmly.

"No! I finally made friends and now you're telling me to break that friendship! You know what no! I'm still going to be friends with them!" I yelled grabbing my bag and storming over to the stairs upstairs.

"Kara get back here! This conversation isn't over yet!" My dad yelled.

"Screw off dad!" I yelled storming up the stairs. Once I reached my room I slammed my door behind me. I locked my door and fell onto my bed so my stomach was on the bed. I screamed into my pillow and turned around so I facing my ceiling. I took my phone out and stared at the phone number and hit dial.
