So after school, me and Teagan always walk home together. We just took our time and talked. Our neighborhood was right next to school and a lot of kids walked home instead of polluting the San Francisco air anymore than it is.
"You got another detention from Mrs. Barrel!" I said, lost for words. This was her 5th one. She nodded. "Teagan... You know that when you want to go to college or get a job they look at your high school records." I used my I'm-A-Know-It-All voice that I know she hates.
"Duh Charlie, but I want to write a book so who cares." I looked at her eyes wide.
"The publisher, the editor... Must I continue?" We had stopped walking in the middle of the side walk.
"You gonna move?" Some kid asked, annoyed. I said a quick sorry and moved away so he could walk past. We stayed where we were staring at each other for a while when this boy, Owen, walked by. He waved at Teagan, not noticing me.
"Hi Owen." She said in a tired voice.
"Hi..." He said quickly. He was pretty cute (that's my inner Charlie kicking in). I mean his eyes were gray but caring, his hair was black and long but no so long that he had to flip it out of his eyes.
"Sup Owen." I said, he had never told me his name which made this awkward.
"Hi Charlotte." He said a little uneasy.
"It's Charlie..." I said trying to play it cool, even though I had ruined it when I had started to open my trap. He nodded and kept walking. Me and Teagan followed behind him, he turned into a drive way after a while.
"What was that! Why does he know your name?" I asked Teagan astonished.
"He sat by me in English... And now he says hi to me walking home...! Does this mean he likes me!" She started to get frantic. I shrugged my shoulders. "Thanks Charlie..." She said sarcastically, "Your the one who does the boys."
