Never getting tired of you

Nathan was a quiet lad with dark secrets. He never thought that anybody cared about him, he didn't have any friends until one day he met a girl who changed him and taught him how to love.

25. our date

Zoe's POV:

We were both sat at a table in this really posh restaurant, the complete opposite of Nathan. He wasn't looking at me, just scanning through the menu.

"Nathan?" I asked. He looked up at me.

"Yeah?" He said, with these big brown eyes looking really nervous.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" I wondered, because I knew I wasn't. He nodded, looking back at the menu. "It's just... Dates are suppose to be fun and a time to 'bond'," I air-quoted.

"Oh, are you not having fun?" Nathan sighed. I could tell he was really trying hard with this. I giggled.

"Let's face it, you can't find anything nice on the menu, I'm not having fun and people are staring,"

"Why are people staring?"

"Because! Nathan we're teens! We don't go to big restaurants, 16 year olds don't sit down at a table and try to be safisitcated," I laughed. Nathan looked ashamed.

"I thought that's what a date was?" He shrugged.

"You've watched too many rom-com's," I said. "Let's go.." I whispered.

"What?!" Nathan asked, eyes opening and leaning over the table.

"Come on! This is our date, we can do whatever we want! I know you don't want to sit here at a place that only does seafood! What do you say?" I tried grabbing his attention.

"I say that I think that makes me like you more!" Nathan smiled, grabbing his jacket off the back of his chair. I took my purse and we left, the waiters looking at us, disgusted. Once outside, Nathan a scruffed his hair and started hopping towards the village.

"So where we going?" I asked.

"Well I normally I go out every Saturday but I made an exception for tonight of course, so I was thinking we could go there,"

"Where?!" I nagged. Nathan tapped his nose.

"Surprise," he grinned mischievously.

"Oh god best not be another fancy pancy place!" I laughed. I was getting slightly hyper. Nathan shook his head.

"No, I've had my taste of nice restaurants, that's enough! Never again!"

"Ever?!" I shouted.

"Yep, now come on or we're gonna miss it!"

"Miss what?" I asked, getting tired now of him not telling me.

We walked all the way back to the village and went towards the record shop. Wow, first date at a small cave selling albums, to be honest I preferred the restaurant. We went down the stairs of the shop. All the lights were turned down apart from a spotlight shinning on a tiny stage, like the ones you'd see children have their school plays. An unfamiliar band were playing. All the stacks of CDs and records had been cleared out. A few people, 10 at the most, we're stood watching them with drinks in their hands.

"What's going on?" I asked, intrigued.

"Freddie has bands and artists play here every Saturday, not famous ones but sometimes you know.. Groups come here, play a lot and then will be famous, eventually" Nathan explained. "It's so awesome..." He dragged the word awesome and watched the performances.

"Who are these playing?" I curiously asked.

"No idea, but they're pretty good," he replied, swaying along to the music. Freddie turned up behind us.

"That's why your late," he whispered, his breath full of whiskey tickling my neck. "Every week you come here on time apart from tonight and it's because of a girl," he patted Nathan's back. Nathan, on the other hand, blushed bright red and shooed Freddie away.

"You come here every week?" I asked Nathan as Freddie left.

"Wouldn't you?" He answered, raising an eyebrow. I shrugged and turned back to face the band on stage. They're genre was rock/alternative. I liked it. It was different and good. Although I was enjoying myself and I could tell, even though Nathan was expressionless, that he was enjoying himself it didn't feel like a date so I made a move and kissed his cheek. Nathan turned his face at me in shock and awkwardly smiled. I leaned my head on his shoulder. I could feel Nathan tense up. I hated the fact that he was so nervous when he was around me. I don't want him to feel as though he has to impress me. Suddenly, after a long thought, Nathan's hand picked up my chin and he kissed me fully on the lips. This must of taken a lot of courage. This is Nathan! The shy awkward kid. He took the measures to kiss a girl. This is an achievement! I was proud of him. But I'm not going to think about that anymore. Right now I'm just concentrating on this amazing, magical kiss. I can't put the. feelings in words. His hands were on my waist. The kiss lasted for like 5 seconds and then he did it again but this time more relaxed. I could hear Freddie wolf whistling at the back but I ignored it as did Nathan. Now this was a date. And god did I love it!
