I kept thinking about what Zoe had told me at the park yesterday. I felt bad, she obviously told me something that was really hard to say and I keep lying to her. I feel as though I should tell her about the situation with my mum? No, I wasn't ready to tell anybody about that!
I saw Zoe walking ahead. She was alone so I went up to her.
"Hi..." I started off by saying. She smiled, god I love her smile!
"You can call me Nate remember?" I said, breathing in my lips.
"But Nathan is so much more... Beautiful in a way? I like the name 'Nathan'," Zoe replied.
"Okay," I smiled. We walked home together, barely saying a word. I didn't like it when we were silent, I felt awkward. Zoe stopped and sat down on a bench.
"What's wrong?" I asked, standing next to the bench.
"Nothing, I just want to sit down?" She replied so casual, I wish I could be casual. She patted the seat next to her telling me to sit down so I did.
"Where are all your friends?" I wondered. "You're alone a lot more often then you used to be?"
"With Olivia, they prefer her you see? They're no friends of mine anyway,"
"Oh..." I replied.
Nathan kept looking at me then looking away. He was so adorable! And I don't mean that in a way like you would describe puppies but he seriously was cute! Like a little boy. I was a little attracted to him, he was sweet and I loved being around him. He understood things better than other boys. He was beautiful, I get that boys can't be beautiful but... He was?
"Nathan have you ever kissed a girl?" I asked him. I noticed he started the blush. Bless him. He shook his head and looked down.
"You?" He backfired the question.
"Have I ever kissed a girl?!" I laughed. Nathan laughed too.
"No, have you kissed before?" He corrected himself.
"Well there's the obvious mum and dad thing right?" I giggled noticing Nathan sighing and looking away trying to avoid my sarcastic question. "Has your mum or dad never kissed you?" I asked based on his reaction. It took a while for him to answer but eventually he shook his head.
"And I don't have a dad," Nathan told me. I gasped. Wow, what kind of life is he leading?! "But apart from parents...?" He changed the subject quickly. I nodded.
"Yes," I replied. "I have kissed before..." I added. Nathan looked slightly disappointed. "Look, Nathan!" I said, turning my head to look at his face and gazing into his eyes full of wisdom. "I..." I began stuttering. "I really like you," I finally managed to say. Nathan nodded but didn't breath a word. "And... Ermm," I started nervously laughing. I thought this would be the perfect time to maybe kiss him but now I was just making it awkward. "You see-"
"I like you too," he interrupted me, turning his head away from me and breaking the gaze.
"You do?" I double checked. He nodded whilst looking down. I got hold of his head and turned it to face me. I leaned forward, noticing Nathan's eyes closing and kissed him... It was only small but worth a lot. We then broke away from the kiss, Nathan looking a little love struck.
"Are you okay?" I wondered, still giggling. Nathan nodded. He was going really red.
"I ermm.. Need to, well, go home now and stuff," he panicked, standing up and waving bye to me walking off.
"Nathan?" I called after him.
"Yeah?" He replied.
"You left you're bag," I laughed, holding up his rucksack. He scruffed his hair and came back towards me taking it out of my hands and then rushing back home. "Bye..?" I chuckled.
