It's now been a week since the incident, today was Monday and I decided to brave school. I went to the bus stop and Olivia was there this time. She looked at me in disgust and then looked away, but didn't say anything. The bus came and took me to school.
I had English today. Zoe was in my lesson. She sat next to me.
"So the soldier came back," she smiled. I shrugged and lay my head on the table. It was as though I couldn't be bothered today. "Hey what's wrong?"
"Nothing." I replied so simple.
Nathan wasn't his usual self, or maybe he was? Maybe these last few weeks he had been different and now he was back to normal, back to quiet Nathan. I didn't like quiet Nathan that much, he was boring and needed getting used to, I much prefer the Nathan I fell in love with. So I tried getting him talking.
"Hey do you want to go out again this weekend?" I asked. He looked at me with his dark eyes and sat up straight.
"What would you want to do?" He asked me, tapping his fingers on his lap.
"Nothing if your going to be quiet!" I replied. Nathan looked insulted. "What's wrong seriously?"
"I'm just tired, and I just can't be bothered with today! It's pointless! Everybody keeps smirking at me! My face is still messed up! I hate this! I hate everybody!" He snapped but immediately looked guilty afterwards.
"Do you hate me?" I asked, swallowing.
"No... That's not what I meant, I'm sorry," Nathan said, turning around to not face me. It was obvious he was wiping away a tear. I patted his back.
"It's okay, don't let people get to you!" I told him. Nathan had his head planted in his sleeve. He nodded slightly. I could hear him sniffing.
Dammit, crying in front of a girl, score. Cause that's what I was aiming for. I don't know what's up with me. I guess I'm just a big baby who cries at things for no apparent reason. Why can't I be some guy who's really strong and lifts weights and never cries at all? But anyway after my tantrum, Zoe had mentioned something about going out this weekend. So I accepted. She was coming round to my place for some food and stuff. Now I just had to wait for the week to end.
