"I like you."
I felt my breath hitch in my throat as I stared down at her, her blue eyes staring back at me.
"W-What?" I choked out, my heart racing Like mad.
"I like you." She repeated.
I felt my grip tighten around her as butterfly's erupted in my stomach.
"Say it again," I demanded.
"Uh.... I like you?" She acted as if it was the most normal thing to say.
I squeezed my eyes shut, the butterfly's flopping their wings all over the place.
"I-I mean, we're friends, right? It would be normal for me to like you as a person."
I felt my heartbreak as I stared at her.
How many times does she have to hurt me for me to understand?
A million times.
I ignored my thoughts as I finally let everything I've been holding in come out.
Tears flowed down my cheeks as I let her go.
I wiped them away quickly before she could notice.
"Hey, you wanna go somewhere with me?" I smiled at her.
"Where?" She got up.
I ignored her question, and grabbed her hand.
Turning off the lights and closing the door, we made our way downstairs as quietly as possible.
It was raining out, so I grabbed an umbrella and held Carter against me as we made our way outside.
Carter shivered quietly, and I pressed her tighter against me, saying we'd be their soon.
We finally stopped at the needed destination.
"A bungalow?" Carter smiled.
"It's my stepdad's." I smiled down at her.
We got inside, and made our way to a bedroom.
I walked towards the fireplace and saw a box of matches.
I lit one up, and threw it in.
The fire started, warming up the room as Carter sighed in content.
"I-I'll sleep on the couch. You can sleep on the bed." I smiled down at her.
"Oh no, I can take the couch, I've already put you in so much trouble." She tried to get up.
"Sorry beautiful, but it's alright." I smiled.
Carter blushed a dark shade of red and I realized just what I had said.
Blushing, I quickly laid down on the sofa after turning the lights off.
A few minutes passed with me staring at the ceiling.
Thunder erupted from outside, and Carter whimpered.
"Harry?" Carter whispers softly.
"Yes?" I sighed.
"Can, Can you sleep next to me? I'm scared." She said in a hushed voice.
My heart fluttered as I made my way towards the bed.
I gave Carter her space, laying on the other side of the couch.
I saw Carter shuffle closer to me in the corner of my eye, and grinned.
She did it again, and I opened my arms to her.
She stared in my eyes for a moment, before snuggling into my chest.
I slowly wrapped my arms around her, letting the smell of mint and roses enter my senses.
"Carter?" I whispered softly as she cuddled into me.
"Yes?" She tangled her legs with mine.
"I like you too." No. I love her. I love her so much, but-- I'm not too sure the day will come when I can tell her how I feel about her.
She grinned up at me, and we stared at each other for a moment.
A thunder roared outside again, and fear shot through Carter's eyes as she fisted my T-shirt in her hands.
"Carter.... Are you frightened by thunder?" I smiled.
She looked up at me, and nodded, with a sheepish look.
"You're safe with me, okay? As long as I'm here, you have nothing to be scared about." I smiled at her.
Something flashed in her eyes, as she stared at me.
All of a sudden her hand brushed against my cheek, and I stared at her.
I couldn't help myself from leaning into her.
She suddenly pressed our foreheads together by leaning even more.
I couldn't take it anymore.
I finally pressed our lips together as I kissed her softly.
She froze for a second, before she kissed me back.
I rolled over so I was on top of her, deepening the kiss.
She ran her fingers through my hair, making me hum in approval.
I kissed her more roughly, as our actions got more intense.
We pulled away, and I felt my eyes darken at the sight of her laying underneath me, hair messy and lips swollen.
We stared at each other once again, until Carter shoved me softly.
I landed next to her, and watched her cuddle into my side.
Slowly, I fell asleep as well, my lips still tingling with the feeling of relief.
When I woke up, Carter was sleeping peacefully in my arms, and I wondered if I was dreaming.
I pinched myself hard, and realised that this was real.
I slowly got out of the bed, being careful not to wake her up.
I walked downstairs, and decided to go back home.
Not even twenty minutes passed when Carter had come back.
She yawned as she walked towards mum.
"Hi, sweety." Mum grinned at Carter.
Carter smiled sheepishly, before muttering a hello.
"Do you need any help?" She asked looking at the omelettes mum was cooking.
"No, it's alright." Mum smiled.
"I insist. I know my way around the kitchen. I cook for my roommate and myself." Carter smiled back.
"Alright then. Could you make some eggs and bacon?" Mum blushed lightly.
Mum stared at Carter as she flipped the eggs with a cute smile on her face.
Mum's face suddenly broke into a grin.
She turned to me with a sparkle in her green eyes that were identical to mine.
'I approve.' She mouthed to me with a wink at the end.
I felt an annoying heat of a dark red shade fade into my cheeks.
Gemma came down after mum and Carter had finished cooking.
Then Robin. And, holy hell. I've never want to leave the world so bad until now.
"Harry, you finally, brought a girl home?" Robin smirked at me.
I heard Carter squeak, as she looked at both at us with heated cheeks.
"Hello dear, I'm Robin. Harry's stepdad." Robin stuck his hand out to Carter.
"Hello. I'm Carter." She shook his hand softly.
"Harry's girlfriend, I suppose?" He wiggled his eyebrows at me.
I clenched my jaw as I glared at him.
"N-No. We're friends." She blushed.
Suddenly her phone rung.
"Who is it?" Gemma frowned.
"Shannon." She gripped her hair.
I scowled, carefully pulling her hands out of her hair.
Carter had become really close with my family.
I was at school, and everyone was just hanging out by the stairwell.
Apparently, to Shannon, this was their 'hang out' area.
Carter was sat at the windowsill, staring out the window as if she were in a whole different world.
I never could understand what she was thinking.
"Don't mind her." Eleanor rolled her eyes. "When she looks out that window, she's in a different world. See, watch."
"Hey Carter!" She called.
"Hm?" She replied, her eyes not leaving the window.
"Would you marry Harry?" She smirked.
I almost killed El.
"Yeah.... Sure." She answers unconsciously.
The thought of Carter in a wedding dress suddenly crossed my mind.
My eyes widened as my heart stammered out of my chest, my face had never been so red.
All of a sudden her eyes widened as they snapped towards Eleanor.
"N-No! El-Eleanor! Wha-What kind of question is that?!?" She stammered out, her cheeks heating up.
"No? You wouldn't?" She pressed on.
A look of hurt crossed my face, making a guilty one appear on Carter's.
"Of course I would, but-" her eyes widened again. "W-Wait, no I wouldn't-" she looked at my even more hurt expression, and groaned loudly.
"Eleanor." Perrie scowled at her.
"Stop putting her in this type of situation!"
"Don't you think they'd make the cutest children?" Shannon teased.
Oh. My. God.
Shannon was suddenly tacked to the ground by Carter who looked murderously down at her.
"Don't say weird stuff like that." She narrowed her eyes at Shannon.
El rolled her eyes as she pushed Carter off Shannon.
"This is why you two infuriate me." Carter scolded.
The doors suddenly opened making all of us turn our heads towards it.
In walked that bitch Rachel.
Carter's body tenses when Rachel smirked at her.
"How's your ankle?" She blinked innocently.
"How was your fake tan last week?" Carter smirked.
"She didn't get one last week, Carter." El laughed, making Carter and Shannon fake a gasp.
"Wait, you didn't get one?!? I actually thought I was looking at an orange!" Shannon sighed.
Louis and Niall burst out laughing as Rachel glares daggers at Shannon.
"You know who I am, right?" She huffs.
"Queen of the sluts?" El questioned innocently.
"No, no, no! She's the queen of whores, El." Shannon argued.
"At least people actually consider me as something. Unlike... Some people." Rachel smirked, staring at Carter.
I felt my fists slowly curl into a ball.
"Aw. Poor, poor Carter. She can't even be something to her own family."
Shannon suddenly ripped out her extensions.
Rachel screamed as she stared at Shannon.
Shannon threw them over the railing.
"You little piece of shit, those cost over 50£!" She screamed at Shannon.
Niall's whole face was red from laughing to hard.
"Listen here, bitch. Next time, it won't be the extensions that fall off this railing." Shannon growled.
Fear shot through Rachel's eyes before she hurried down the steps.
Then it happened.
She tripped over her black heel and fell.
Fuck, karma was amazing.
Carter quickly ran down to help her up.
"Are you okay?!?" She gasps.
Rachel only winced in pain.
"WELL! ISN'T KARMA A BITCH?!?" Shannon screamed down at them in between laughter.
Carter shot Shannon a look before helping Rachel sit up.
"This is going to hurt. But it'll be over before you know it." Carter mumbled.
She took Rachel's heel off making Rachel throw some colourful words at Carter.
"I promised to make her wish she never got those extensions." Shannon grinned.
El burst out laughing as if they had an inside joke going on.
"It looks bruised." Carter looked at Rachel's ankle.
"Do you think you can make it to the nurses office?" She asked.
Rachel shook her head.
"BITCH WHAT!? BITCH WHAT!?" Shannon sang.
Carter rolled her eyes before she went to get the nurse.
"Well, isn't everyone just falling down the stairs." The nurse laughed.
Carter gave a weak smile.
When Rachel's ankle got bandaged, Carter sat back down at the windowsill.
With a sigh, she stared at all of us for a second.
"I'm bored." Louis whined.
"So?" Shannon huffed.
"Let's do something." Perrie suggested.
"Like what?" Zayn looked down at her.
All of a sudden, a large thud was heard.
Carter had fallen from her seat, and she was staring wide eyed at the window.
"Are you okay?" I gaped at her, checking her for any injuries.
She shot up quickly, running down the stairs.
"Carter!" El stared at the running girl with wide eyes.
And suddenly, everyone was following her, worry laced in their features.
But what I saw, made my heart stop.
Carter had jumped into a guy's arms.
A guy that wasn't me.
