I smiled and kissed Ashley again, letting my fangs lightly touch his lip. He laughed lightly and kissed me down my neck. I shivered and tugged his hair a bit. I then remembered Jeremy and Jacob. Damn. I whispered into Ashley’s ear, telling him to get dressed and help them. His eyes widened and he nodded.
I quickly slid on my clothes, ignoring the fact that they were a bit dirty from being tossed in the mud. I heard groaning from Jeremy and Jacob, so I threw my jacket on and ran over to them.
“Is Jacob doing okay?” I asked, flustered from being with Ashley. Jeremy nodded. He turned back to Jacob and kissed his forehead.
“I’m not convinced that you are the good guy in this war, but I refuse to believe that you’re evil. What are you trying to do?” Jeremy asked. I smiled and spoke.
“I’m trying to stop the wolves from taking over. Here, I’ll explain it to you. You see, there is no way to reverse the transformation into a wolf. Once you are bitten, there is no going back. But we Daywalkers, we can go back. There is anti-venom. We don’t use it now, and we don’t see a reason to use it. We are stronger as Daywalkers than as humans. We are faster and stealthier. But the point is we aren’t just biting people for no reason. You may not have this power yet, but we can tell when something is wrong with someone. Like me. I didn’t know it at the time, but I had terminal cancer and I was going to die within hours. Once I was bitten, the cancer killed my human. The anti-venom won’t work on me, because my only human part of me is dead. Jeremy, I’m half-alive.” I said, letting it soak into his head. He nodded.
“What is Marshall’s plan then?” Jeremy asked.
“He wants to take over the world. He plans to make everyone into a wolf, and rule as a dictator. I’m trying to get order. I want us to elect someone as king. They could rule for two years, and then he can nominate five people to be next king. Then we could vote on who gets to be our king.” I said, dreaming out loud. Jeremy snickered and smiled widely.
“You are the good guy. Sorry I doubted you, Nicholas. By the way, just call me Jinxx. You can call Jacob Jake by the way. It sounds too formal, my first name.” Jeremy, I mean Jinxx, said. I nodded, and crouched next to Jake.
“Jake, wake up. Die Sonne geht unter, aber der Mond aufgeht.“ I said lightly stroking his cheek. His eyes snapped open, and they were bright yellow. He groaned and hissed, his fangs showing. They were soaked in his own blood.
“If you’re going to talk to me, speak fucking English.” Jake said, sitting up and kissing Jinxx. I laughed and stood up, helping him up too. He stumbled and leaned onto Jinxx.
“Jinxx, you should take him hunting. He must be thirsty. Just don’t let him feed on a wolf. It could morph him still.” I said, and I let them go. I walked back over to Ashley, running my fingers through his hair.
I feel different about Ashley. I’ve slept with many men and women, but I’ve never grown this attached to them. His eyes are like no others. He just moves like he has nothing else to live for. And his kisses, ugh don’t let me even start. I think I might actually like him.
“Hey Nicholas. C-can I ask you something?” Ashley said, and I nodded, kissing his cheek. He shivered and continued. “Well, I like you and all, but I don’t know you very well. This wasn’t some like mind trick or something, right?” He asked and I giggled.
“No, it wasn’t. I don’t have that power. My only power is persuasion, and it doesn’t work like that. I have to flirt with you to get you to agree to say something. I haven’t gotten it strong enough to persuade you into sex.” I said, purring and wrapping my arms around his cold body.
“You are simply intoxicating. Be my love?” I asked, looking into Ashley’s beautiful brown eyes.
For once I didn’t have to use my power to get someone to say ‘yes’.
