“You’ve been tracking us?!” Leo shouts, suddenly wide awake.
The Head nods shamelessly, striding over to the screen. We follow after a moment of hesitation.
“We were trying to find anomalies in behaviour so we could pinpoint the Mole.” She explains, enlarging something on the screen.
We watch a red dot zoom around manically, dorm room, canteen, classrooms, what I recognise as Roans dorm room, and repeating.
“We were expecting to find some way of exiting the school site we hadn’t known. As you can see, she never leaves campus. We did find this however.”
She taps something and we watch as Rin the dot makes her way to class only…
“Why’s she going that way?” Leo asks, watching as Rin veers right up to the wall before walking back into the normal path of students.
Roan stares at the screen, watching his ex-girlfriend use information he helped her gain to make our lives hell.
“It turns out she found a blind spot in our cameras. She was throwing information over the wall which was then picked up by the journalist. From what we’ve destroyed on their systems, it’s mainly video footage. She was recording students using their Quirks.”
I thought of the multitude of fights we had in the last few days, Rin always on the outskirts apparently recording it all.
I clench my fits while Leo swears under his breath.
Roan clears his throat.
“If you know where she is, why haven’t you caught her yet?”
“We’re waiting for her to lead us to her accomplices. Don’t worry, she’s being heavily watched.”
Roan shakes his head.
“You don’t understand. She mind controlled me. Her Quirk is stronger than a normal Channellers.”
The Head is silent. Staring at him as if he’s suddenly speaking Chinese.
“Where you using your Quirk at the time?”
Roan blinks, face paling.
“No, I wasn’t.”
She pulls out a phone so fast she almost elbows me.
I grip Leo’s hand, thinking of the cage from Madouc’s painting.
“It’s me.” She says, voice strained. “Pull back. She’s not a Channeller.”
“Wait, she’s coming over,” says a male voice on the other end.
“Fall back!” the Head says louder, voice panicked.
“She’s- ahhh!” The man screams in agony.
I recognise that scream.
My eyes had been in that cage and now she was using my Quirk.
The Head starts running around manically, commanding the Suits to warn others.
“Roan, what’s going on?” I ask nervously.
Roan takes in a shaky breath.
“She’s a Hoarder, she can store Quirks and right now she has both yours and mine.”
