I woke up not being able to move my head.
Right! I had a brace on! Then I felt stirring next to me. I looked down and I could see Anna peacefully sleeping. I had to get all the way up to flip to my side.
Man, it wasn't easy having a stiff head! Why was I even wearing a brace? I didn't hurt my neck. That's a question I need to ask the doctor. For now I put my hand around Anna's waist which woke her up and she turned around to face me.
"How did you manage to get on your side?," she asked.
"Ahh, it wasn't that hard," I told her. Then the doctor came in. "
Whoops, I hope I'm not interrupting anything am I?," he said.
"No, it's fine," Anna smiled getting out of bed.
"Where are you going, lie back down! I'll only be a minute and your not in my way," the doc told her. She slide back down beside me.
"So Harry, how are you? Does anything hurt?," he asked me.
"I'm good and nothing hurts, but why the heck do I have to wear a brace when I didn't brake my neck!," I asked him. He laughed.
"It's so you don't have to worry about hitting your head against something when you sleep, since the wound is fresh," he told me.
"Oooh...," was all I said. He finished my 'check-up' and quickly went away.
The following days Harry had a hard time getting used to having a stiff neck. The doctor kept him in the hospital for two additional days, which made Harry sad because he wanted to go to the beach with me and kept thinking that he ruined the whole vacation. I told him not to worry and that we still had a whole week to spend together.
Finally on Harry's 5th day in the hospital a nurse came in the evening to take Harry's brace off.
"How does that feel?," she said, taking it off.
"It feels that I have my neck back," he answered. She laughed and told Harry to get dressed and that he had to sign some papers in the front desk.
"Your finally coming back to the hotel!," I shouted giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"I can't wait to get out of this stinkin' hospital!," he chuckled.
"Harry!," I scolded.
After Harry got dressed we went to sign the papers. There the doctor came to say goodbye.
"In two days you can take the pad off the back of your head and it's safe for you to go swimming, just be careful!," he said shaking Harry's hand.
Outside Louis was waiting in a car ready to pick us up. When we reached the hotel it was 7 p.m.
"I guess me and Anna will go upstairs to rest and then we can all go for a boardwalk by the lighthouse, okay?," Harry said.
"Sure!," Louis answered.
