When all walked out of the locker room, we made our way to out rink to start practice. I had noticed that we were going in a few minutes earlier than usual, so obviously Gabrielle and Bella weren’t going to be out of the rink yet, and I’m pretty sure most of the people here are completely okay with that.
We walked into the rink, and of course there was Gabrielle, just getting off the rink and going to take her skates off. I noticed that Bella hadn’t even bothered to go sit next to her like she usually does when she is waiting for Gabrielle. Instead she is standing a few feet away from her with her arms crossed as she waited. I also noticed that Bella had a scowl on her face right now.
At the moment I didn’t think that it was directed at anyone in particular right now, I think that it was just showing how angry she was right now. She pretty much wasn’t happy with anyone right now, me and Gabrielle being the main people, but she could probably do without anyone else of the team trying to start an argument like they used to before the renovations and everything with coach telling about Gabrielle and I.
I soon saw Zack and Adam get onto the ice already and they skated to the side that was closet to where Gabrielle and Bella were at the bleachers.
“So how’s everything going between you two? Did you forgive your traitor friend Bella like and idiot, or are you still mad,” Zack said to them the moment that he approached them.
“Would you just shut up for once,” Bella snapped at him.
“Ah so I see someone is still pretty angry about all of this,” Zack smirked.
“Could you just leave us alone?” Bella told him.
“Why? I’m enjoying this, and I-”
“Just shut up!” Gabrielle yelled at him, interrupting him from whatever stupid thing he was going to say.
This took all of us by surprise; Gabrielle never was one to get involved with the arguments that took place between Bella and anyone else on the hockey team.
I noticed Bella and Zack both moved back a bit in surprise, and I thought I might’ve flinched a bit. Conclusively, it caught almost everyone in here by surprise; I think that Gabrielle was a bit shocked that she actually did that. It’s good that she did though, someone needed to tell Zack to shut up, and I’m glad it was Gabrielle taking a step out of her comfort zone to do so.
Zack was obviously at a loss for words, so Gabrielle just kind of acted like nothing had just happened and went back to taking her skate off. She soon had both off and began to walk towards the exit. A few seconds later Bella took off to follow her out,
“I can’t believe you actually did that,” I heard Bella whisper to her as they had just passed me.
I didn’t hear what Gabrielle said back or if she even responded at all, but soon they were both out of the rink and in the lobby and I couldn’t see them anymore.
“Okay, on the ice, let’s go!” coach yelled at us the moment they left, and all of made our way onto the rink, except for Zack and Adam who were already there.
As we were all skating around the rink, getting warmed up, Zack skated up to me with Adam following behind him.
“Control your girlfriend man, I was just joking around with them,” Zack said to me and then he skated off again.
I started clenching my hockey stick so tight that my knuckle began to turn white. I released my grip, and the fought to urge to go over to him and pound his face in.
After we were through warming up, coach called us over and we split into teams for a practice game before he did more of our actual training.
I was surprised that all it took to get Bella to start talking to me just a little bit again was to yell at a hockey player. After I had told Zack to shut up earlier at the rink today, Bella was talking to me as we had waited for her mom to come pick us up. Mostly she was just shocked that I said that to him since I usually tend to avoid getting into any argument Bella and him had with each other.
She said that she was proud that I had stood up for both of us and got him to leave us alone, but she also made a point to remind me that I shouldn’t take this to think that she’d forgiven me, see let me know that she was still pretty mad at me. I wished that she would just forgive me already, but I knew that it wasn’t going to happen that easily. I just didn’t know how I was going to make all this up to her or what was going to be a good enough apology for her.
She was pretty stubborn at times so I knew that it probably wasn’t going to be that easy to get her to forgive me. I was currently in the car with Bella and her mom, and we were almost at my house. When we both had gotten into the car at the rink, Bella had summed up to her mom what all happened.
It really wasn’t that big of a deal to me, I just told him to shut up, but I guess to everyone else they were surprised that I did that since I guess I tended to try and not stand out in a crowd and not get involved in any stupid fights and arguments that happen at the rink.
Luckily we were talking about that or not talking at all since I didn’t want either of them to go back to our conversation from yesterday in the car on the way to my house, because that was not fun, especially for me since I am the one who is pretty much disliked right now.
A few minutes later and I saw my house coming closer and closer into view until the car finally stopped in front of my house. I said bye to both of them before grabbing my bag and getting out of the car. They drove away was I walked up the driveway and went inside my house. I headed upstairs to get changed and I went ahead and took a shower.
Once I was done with all that, I went back downstairs to get a snack, and as I was doing that I glanced at the clock and saw that I still had a few hours until my dad was going to be home.
I managed to go most of my day at the rink without thinking about it since I was busy with my skating, but now that I was home I really had no other option but to worry about it since I didn’t have anything else that would fully consume my thoughts right now.
I wasn’t sure how my dad was going to punish me or what his full reaction would be to all this when he comes home tonight. He was surprisingly pretty calm this morning, which I wasn’t expecting. I really wasn’t expecting him to even know about Harry and I this morning, but since he did, he handled it differently that I would’ve thought he would.
I guessed that he was just calm since he had to leave to work, but tonight when he got home he was probably going to lash out at me.
I had not clue what he was going to do or what he was going to take away from me, and I was beyond scared.
