After my dad and I had arrived back at our house after leaving Bella’s, my dad had put some frozen lasagna in the oven, and we ate that for dinner once it was done. While we ate my dad and I were mostly talking about the renovations going on at the rink since it was supposed to open back up in a couple of weeks.
Then I just listened to my dad go on about how much training and practicing I was going to have to do since I was behind on my normal skating schedule right now. I had finally had enough of him going on about that so I quickly finished my dinner and told him that I was going to go up to my room. I was so excited to get back on the ice again soon, but my dad has been dragging all the fun out of it.
He goes on and on about how much I needed to practice, but then he hardly ever shows up to watch me. I get that he has to work, but he could at least come during the lunch break that he never uses, or change his working schedule to where he didn’t have to work as long or something along those lines.
When I had gotten to my room, I lay down on my bed and stared at the ceiling, which is what I’ve basically been doing for the past few hours. I messed around on my computer a bit and played on my phone, but all that had gotten boring after awhile.
Now that it was getting pretty late, I was now just waiting for either Bella or Harry to call me to tell me about how the date went because I was dying to know. I was pretty sure that Bella was going to call me tonight because Harry might think I’d be asleep and wouldn’t want to wake me, whereas Bella doesn’t care if she wakes me up or not, she just wants me to answer. I eventually just gave up on waiting for Bella to call and I just decided that she was going to call me tomorrow.
No matter how much I wanted to know what happened, I made myself get under the covers and stop thinking about what all might’ve happened tonight. At first all the wondering and curiosity I had about tonight was keeping me up, but I kept telling myself to stop thinking about it because the sooner I got to sleep the sooner I would probably be waking up to the sound of one of them calling me tomorrow morning.
Just as I was starting to feel myself going to sleep, my phone started ringing. I groaned as I turned my lamp on and grabbed my phone off the bedside table. I looked at the screen and saw Bella’s name on it, and I was instantly fully awake again.
“How was your date?” I asked just as I had pressed the answer button.
“Terrible,” she sighed and I smiled to myself.
“What happened?” I asked her, continuing on with pretending I didn’t know anything about how Harry acted tonight.
“He was so rude to me and I don’t know where this personality change came from,” she told me.
I knew where it came from.
“He was so sweet and nice to me at the park and now its like he is a completely different person,”
“What did he do?” I asked her since hearing what all Harry did was pretty much the only reason that I answered the phone right now.
“Well first off he could’ve told me that he was taking me to the diner, because I was completely over dressed. Then on the way there while I was talking to him, he told me to stop talking because I was annoying him,” she began, and I had to hold back a laugh.
“He told me not to get a cheeseburger and to just get a salad because I needed to watch my weight being a figure skater and that I was already on the edge. Then he took me water and poured what was left in it into his cup. Then to end off the dinner he made me pay for my own food and then he winked at the waitress,” she finished and I was holding back a laugh right now, trying my best not to let it slip out right now.
“Did he do anything else?” I asked her.
“Probably, but I’m sick of replaying the night in my head. I just wanted to tell you the majority of the night, I’ll call you tomorrow and tell you more because I’m getting pretty tired,” she told me, so I went ahead and said bye and we both hung up.
It was a pretty short phone call but it got me pretty much everything that I was dying to know right now. I was so tempted to call Harry right now and hear his side of the night and tell him about Bella’s reaction, but I figured that it would be best to wait until the morning.
I didn’t want to bother him at all right now since this was probably a hard night for him, having to act like a complete jerk and all. I could fall asleep easier now that I knew a majority of the date tonight, and I was looking forward to being filled in on the other details of the night too from both Bella and Harry.
I still felt a bit bad for being most of the reason that this terrible night happened to Bella, and I had to keep reminding myself all the things she’s done and said to me that were terrible, and I felt better about all this. So that night I fell asleep with a smile on my face and a guilty conscious.
On the drive home from the diner it was pretty quiet between Bella and me. The night had gone as planned for me, but it was obviously terrible for her. This was probably the longest amount of time that I’ve been with her that she wasn’t on non-stop talking mode.
I drove my car up to the front of her house and unlocked the door for her once I stopped the car. I told her bye when she got out and it didn’t surprise me when she got out without saying a word.
As I was driving out of the neighborhood and back to my aunt’s house, I was really wanting to call Gabrielle at the moment and tell her all about the night with Bella and everything that I did and said. I figured I should just wait until tomorrow though, because she is probably asleep or getting ready to go to sleep, and if she isn’t I bet that Bella is calling her right now to tell her about the date.
When I got back to the house, I saw some of the lights on through the windows showing that my aunt was most likely still up.
I was kind of hoping that she would be asleep by now because I didn’t want her asking me about what I did tonight. I didn’t want to lie to her yet I didn’t want to tell her the truth, and I hadn’t even come up with a story to what I had been up to all night.
I parked my car in the driveway and walked up the driveway and inside of the house. When I walked into the kitchen, my aunt was there washing some dishes that needed to be done by hand instead of in the dish washer.
“Hey,” I said as I walked up to her.
“Hey,” she said back, “Have fun tonight?”
“Um…yeah,” I said casually.
“Good,” she said and continued to wash the dishes.
“Well I think I’m going to go to bed,” I said after a few moments had passed.
“Oh wait,” my aunt stopped me just as I was about to walk out of the kitchen.
“Yeah?” “Tomorrow your coach is probably going to be coming over here again,” she told me.
“Okay, and…” I trailed off, not really seeing how this affected me since she always has him over without telling me and I didn’t mind.
“Well if you’re going to have Gabrielle come over which I’m guess you are, you probably don’t want your coach seeing her here. So either just stay out of the living room or just take her out for the day,” she explained to me.
“What time is he coming over?” I asked.
“I don’t have an exact time, but in the morning Ben and I are going to go pick him up since his car is getting some repairs and the three of us are going to go get breakfast,” she told me, and I nodded.
“Okay,” I said and began to walk back to the exit of the kitchen, “Well I’m going to head to bed now,”
“Okay, goodnight,” she said.
“Good night,” I said back and walked out of the kitchen and headed to my room.
The next morning for once I actually woke up when I wanted to. No alarm, no early morning phone calls to wake me up, just the sun shining through my window. I figured that I would get a call from Harry or Bella later today, but I was kind of wishing that one of them would call me now.
As I headed downstairs, since my dad had already left for work, I went ahead and sent Harry a text since I didn’t have to worry about my dad asking me who I was texting. In the text I sent, I had just asked Harry if I could come over later today. Harry answered me a few minutes later telling me that he’d be by in around fifteen or twenty minutes to come get me.
Once I had read that, I quickly finished up my breakfast and then headed upstairs to get ready. I changed into jeans and a floral printed top before heading into my bathroom to do what takes the most amount of time in the process of getting ready.
I put some product in my hair to tame the frizzy mess that it was right now, and then washed my face, brushed my teeth, did my makeup, all that stuff.
By the time I finished that, I checked the time and Harry would probably be here in a couple of minutes.
After those couple of minutes passed, I heard my doorbell ring and I instantly got up from the couch and went to the front door.
“Hey,” I greeted.
“Hey,” he said back, a bit rushed.
“You okay?” I asked him.
“Yeah, I’ll tell you in the car,” he said and I scrunched my eyebrows together at him, but he ignored it and grabbed my hand and led me to his car, rather quickly.
“So do you want to go somewhere or go back to my aunt’s house?” he asked me.
“Well I was planning on just going to your aunt’s house,” I answered.
“Okay. Sorry I’m a bit on edge, my coach is coming over to the house today and if we’re going to go there then we need to get there before them so he won’t know you’re there since he’ll pretty much be in the living room the whole time,” Harry told me, and I just nodded, understanding now why was in this somewhat rushed state, and I just looked out the window as he continued to drive.
When we were finally driving up to Harry’s aunt’s house, I just saw his aunt’s car in the driveway so I figured that was fine since Harry’s coach probably picked her up.
“Okay good, his car isn’t here,” Harry said and he drove up the driveway and parked his car next to his aunt’s.
Harry and I both got out of the car, and walked up to the front door and headed inside.
As we were walking towards Harry’s room, as we approached the living room, I heard talking but I figured it was just the TV on or something. Harry pushed the door open to the living room, and as we both walked in the two adults sitting on the couch had turned around to see who had walked in, both with wide eyed expressions on their faces, both with different meaning.
