Harry and I sit in my small kitchen, finishing up our Chinese food. Throughout our evening together, all he did was tell me how his morning went with his mouth full of yellow rice. While he was telling me his morning routine, my mind goes elsewhere.
That elsewhere is Luke.
I told him that I would get Harry to back off but here we are, eating Chinese at one in the afternoon. Laughing it up and talking as if there's not a situation between us.
"Sandra, did you hear me?" His green eyes scans my face.
Harry eats the last bit of his rice. "I said, want to go to the movies tonight?"
"I would but I was planning on hanging with Luke."
He doesn't say a word and steals a chicken wing from my plate. Like he always does. It's scary how close Harry and I are. We seems to be so comfortable with each other. I can wear no make-up, a dirty t-shirt, and baggy sweatpants with my hair messy, and he won't acknowledge my appearance. Probably call me names like 'hobo' or 'dirty ass' but that's it. Just harmless name calling and that's it.
To think of it, Harry is never mean to me. Luke on the other hand, he would question on how I look and tell me to change if we were planning to leave somewhere. Well, he won't tell me directly. He would just say, 'You're going to wear that?' and I would get the hint and change out of it.
"What are you guys going to do?" Harry asks while adjusting his head band.
"I don't know. It was his idea. I think he wants to stay the night again."
"Ew," He smirks, while thinking his dirty thoughts.
"It's not like that you pervert." I laugh and he snatches my chicken wing from my hands and takes a bite out of it.
"Fuck you," I roll my eyes.
"When?" He winks and takes another bite.
"Perv.." I whisper and he takes a sip of my drink.
It is almost four in the afternoon and I'm grocery shopping by myself. Harry decided to leave after we finished eating and Luke was suppose to meet up with me but he said that he'll come by later tonight like he promised. This isn't the first time this happened. Like always, he's probably playing video games at home and watching TV. Sometimes, he brings his electronics to play at my house. We're 20 years old, not 15.
I went on line to pay for my items and someone accidentally bumps into me from behind.
"Sorry, I'm in a rush!" A small red haired girl shyly tells me.
"Uh, it's cool." I bluntly say.
"I'm meeting up with this guy and I don't want to be late like last time." She weakly smiles at me.
Why is she telling me this? I don't care about her damned plans.
"That would be $35.17" The cashier tells me and I handed over my credit card. The red head scans my face but walks away without saying a word.
After putting the bags of groceries in the trunk of my car, Luke sends me a text.
*Sorry babe but I can't make it 2nite. The lads invited me to eat and I forgot that I already promised them. Ttyl. Love you.*
I applied with a simple, "Okay, love you too." I make my way back to the apartment.
"What do you want to watch?" Harry asked once we enter through the AMC movie theater doors.
"I'm not sure," I respond honestly.
I'm glad Harry was understanding enough to still go to the movies. I explained to him on how Luke blew me off for his friends. He just shrugged his shoulders and paid for our movie tickets.
"Oh," I pinched his arm so he can pay his attention back to me. "I went grocery shopping and this red head chick bumps into me and just stares."
"Read head?" Harry questions as we pick our seats all the way in the back of the theater, like we always do. "Was she hot?"
I roll my eyes, "She was pretty," I say sarcastically and he chuckles. "But it was just the way she just stands there and looks at my face. Don't you think it's weird?"
"Creepy." He bluntly responds.
The way he responds made it seem that he wasn't interested to what I was saying.
"What's wrong?" I asked and he just shoves popcorn in his mouth. "Harry!" I nudge him with my elbow.
"Nothing!" He nudges me back and he almost made me spill my soda and laughs.
The Iron Man movie begins and half way through, I begin to get tired. I am those people who goes to the movies for comedy only. Or even horror. Action movies aren't really my thing to watch but Harry loves them. He always gets so excited when something blows up and he seems to enjoy heroic films.
Yawning, I place my head against my comfy seat and try to keep my eyes open.
"Sandra," A faint voice echoes through my head. "Sandra!"
My eyes flew open and I take in my surrounding.
Oh yeah, movie theater. Iron Man. Harry.
"You're seriously falling asleep?" He whispers and shakes his head amusingly.
"Sorry," I yawn and stretch a bit. "You know I'm not really into action."
"Not into action? Well, that explains Luke."
"What do you mean?"
"He's not getting no action with you because you're not into them." He chuckles and laughs a little harder when he sees my expression.
"Not that kind of action, you dick." I cover my face to hide my smile.
"So I'm something that you're not getting." He jokes and takes a sip from my soda.
"Everything is sex with you." I shake my head and he just shrugs.
"But it's only fun with the right person." He whispers and I think over what he just said. Fun with the right person?
"What do you mean? You didn't find the right girl yet?"
He looks away. "No, but I know she's closer than you think."
"At least you found out about Destiny before you started to think she was the right one." I tried to lighten up the mood but I knew I failed because Harry didn't smirk like he would have.
"I know who it is, and it is definitely not her."
I sit up straight. "Ooo, who is it?" I couldn't help but grow a smile, interested in Harry's new choice.
"Like I said before, she's closer than you think." He runs his fingers through his hair.
"No." He rolls his eyes.
"No, now shut up." He jokes.
"Ugh," I move my arm and accidently knock over the bag of popcorn. "Oh, fuck me" I curse at myself.
"Glad to," Harry whispers next to me and I look at him.
There was no smirk, no attempt of it being a joke.
He just stares at me.
Licking his lips.
